Who does this affect? The old school players that use the market to get their ATs. It mildly effects those that spend $
because those that already spend $ to buy ATs will still spend $. All it does is give them a bigger advantage because those
that use the in-game market to get ATs will now find it even more difficult to mount an attack.

The think tank that came up with this should play Polish Roulette... one empty chamber in the pistol and the rest full of
bullets. But because they're Polish, they'll only find a gun with a clip and take one bullet out of the clip... thinking it will
have the same effect.

"Old school players" happened to be the ones being more in favour of reducing of AT supply..because they both experienced low and massive supply, and know how it was, and how it's now. Most of those would mostly agree with Zeratul's speech.

KK I thought this could be good at first. As people will have to be more considerate with what they do with their at. But after you really look at it, this only benifits the cash player. I can spend 50usd monday of each week, and buy 50K at. Effectively eating up A considerable portion of the market.

Getting 3-4 cash players together dominates server for a week. This is a bad thing! Very bad.

I say this as a player who buys AT on black market, as well.

There were no 3T motherships and monstrous dual planets with huge stats back in the day. If you didn't see that an abundance of resources being available was eventually gonna happen, then you're all as short-sighted as Jason is with his updates.

Seriously, if you didn't like how it was... you could have dumped your lifers and gone to perg for the more "strategic game".

ATs are what keeps the players still playing, active. More activity is good for the game. Less activity leads to fewer people being around. You've practically given perg players no chance to compete against Maelstrom and crippled them.

Seriously, if you only want to make 3 attacks per day again... try playing MyBrute or something.

I never thought I'd say this but maxsterling is a genius.

This choking off the AT supply is going to cripple regular players who dont use the black market. How are they going to catch up to those trillionaire MSs? How will they now battle against the $$ spenders? Cos they'll still be flush with ATs as usual, its everyone else who's pretty much crippled.

This'll seriously lead to a lack of activity.

2 years ago, I dont remember that ever being less than 300. This is all a good thing you think Apophis? I'd like to see you call this an MMO still when its down to about 10 players online at a time

i'm with zeratul on this, while i'm not exactly the greatest player ingame, i've been around long enough to listen to people complain about different things. i've also heard this exact thing be suggested numerous times and well supported. so now that jason does do something, you all complain. also, i really do think you all seriously underestimate jason and also all these jibes about him doing it just for the money. but i suppose everyone knows jason on such a personal level and can judge him in such a way.

maybe it is a mistake, but its very possible intentional and i for one am glad to see it. also, if this is one small update, it may be a sign for more to come.

i do believe this forum is very possibly filled with the most negative group of people i ever have met. its just a few bright gems and lively characters keeping me about.

we're all to quick to put other people down, but not do anything myself. maybe this will end up completely disasterous, i'll admit i've not completely thought it through, it is 2 am and i am dead. but if anyone else can think of a perfect update feel free to share it with us and with jason.

also, i apologise in advance if i've bollix'd my post up. i'm away to bed now. :lol:

I'm sorta siding with the people against unfortunatly.

I'd love to see less AT available, and have some stratagy/teamwork to take down a defense, rather then just throw resources at it untill it cracks.


However, with this still in affect "Attack Turns 1,000 600,000", i doubt this will work. However, has the available ammount (last value) dropped or raised? Maybe if THAT was made to 60k, instead of 600k (unless it was 6m before lol), then it would.


To those whom are opposed:
Have you ever wanted your defense to take a little more of a beating in a vendetta before they break? Cause if you have, then THIS is an alternative to just increasing the % needed to break it.

Think about it, if your defense took say 500 turns to destroy. Which situation would be BETTER for you? If the entire market only consisted of 5m AT, in which case they had to spend 0.01% of the ENTIRE available AT of the game to kill it; OR the market has 50m AT, and they only need to use 0.001% of the availabe AT to take your defense (and in an alliance war, it's the difference between taking down 1 defense, and 10 defenses)



This will ALSO mean sabbing is MORE effective. Rather then spending lets say 400AT killing the weapons, and 100AT killing the remaining units. You can instead use your covert turns, and take out say 1/2 the weapons to start with, BEFORE attacking, leaving you with 200at left over for someone else

Unless someone can tell me otherwise, sabbing itself has not been given an overhaul so you are still stuck sabbing not that effectively.

Such a change also means that people will be able to sit there with the minimal defences because it's NOT WORTH massing them and the situation we had with the server war repeats endlessly. It costs the same number of attack turns to mass 50b defence as it does 500b or 5trillion.

It's the clean up afterwards that take up the turns since usually you kill less than half of the supers and you obviously want to damage more. (Or I do at least)

While I can agree that attack turns may be too numerious the fact that the ingame black market still exists means this is a bit of a bad update. Though the amount of turns you got per $ HAS been reduced (it was up to 1100 - I THINK not 100%.)

Has it been reduced enough - the ingame black market? that's the question and will limiting of attack turns via the market help or just crush the little guy completely is the question that remains.

and that was my recollection as well. :)

personally, since Admin Jason didn't give us any explanation about this prior to or with the release of this so-called update,

I think it should be in the bugs section until we have proof that it was even intentional...

plus, it'll get a lot of press there...

BTW, didn't units on teh ingame market used to be about twice as cheap as well?

the standard atm is a little over 5k, and I'm pretty sure it used to be over 11k. :P

do you know about when the uu prices changed?
( as many people have pointed out, the ingame market appears to rise and fall with things like the server war... :-D )


but as my alliance mate Cyclonus / Darth Optimus points out...

it only cost him 6 attack turns to go on ppt... :D

now I make more than 5 bil on 6 AT... but not exceedingly more...

wait, why did he say 6 AT, if the market says 32? :-k

Firstly the ATs generating didn't drop...the only hurt people in this, I admit, is perg..

What were BM prices for ATs?
You received: 13000 turns, 0 miners, 0 Naq.
For 10$, a week or so ago. Second time I've bought ATs with $$ in this game. :-D (*is not a regular ATs $$ buyer)

That's utter BS.

How is a new guy supposed to catch up if they cannot raid due to the lack of AT?

This game survived for that long only because there was an opportunity for newly joined players to raid and compete with older players. With the lack of AT, their only way for them to catch up is to use $.

It won't bring any strategy back into the game, just drive off new players and lead to a stagnation.

I find it interesting that the ones who do not play the game are the most vocal supporters of the "abundance of AT is killing the game"- theory

To be honest, if you wanna reduce the ME hunters, all you gotta do is reverse the values for killed defense soldiers and attack soldiers. That way you get rewarded for building a defense. If people think about it, aside of perg players, nobody will really suffer much from it.
There's 3 MTs. You were able to buy about 500 ATs from each. Most of us use at least 1 PPT. The ATs generating, I think, is still the same. People who don't attack will still have generating ATs, and sell them before it reaches/has reached 5k. So all in all, most of you bought them in market from other players. Given market offers at max 1.6k ATs or so, it's not going to change much, as when you buy 1.6k ATs, you don't buy PPT/bank increase/MPDSD.
