Re: Why
Id imagine most long standing alliances are tight knit, even within the major empires.
More so now the server wars over, any alliance that stuck that out must feel some sort of collective pride.
In the case of the one core collective of power, IE FUALL. I think the individual alliances will be as tight with each other as any smaller alliance not connected by a unified banner. I think in an empire that size however its inevitable the bond between the individual parts must be harder to work on then say Nem Sect and Core. Its a simple matter of numbers.
Events and interactions shape relationships between players and any alliance with a decent degree of activity in game will build friendships from this. Nemesis Empire has been through hell and back, losing veterans, picking up new personalities, numerous wars and thats shaped what is now a group of close knit people. The fact we fight under the same banner in larger numbers then say your independants doesnt change that fact.
The best thing that could ever happen to this game in terms of creating new alliances & scenario's would be a huge draft. Who knows what that would throw up with different folks ending up everywhere. But whos to say itd change anything? Power gravitates towards power, and the weak take cover in powers shadow. Eventually, youd just have another collective of power settle into place.

Re: Why
Bad Wolf...I appreciate and respect you and every point in your argument . I agree with 100% with your comments at one level and I totally disagree on the basic premise.
I have to use OE as my reference point as it is the only empire I was ever in. ( I think same could be said of DDE ). Your point is that the game is ruined with great empires containing multiple alliances ...that some how individuality and diversity is lost. I speak from long experience mate in what I say next . In OE we had 5 alliances . No two were even close to being the same . Some were more warlike than others...some preferred war for good reasons only, others would mass you if your shadow was too long .
Point is people are individuals. I had the damdest most diverse set of personalities in OE leadership you can imagine. All were different, all led their alliances differently, and all were terrific leaders.
Anyone that loses ''individuality'' within their alliance ceases to become an asset to that aliance....any alliance that loses it's ''individuality'' ceases to be an asset to that empire.
Great empires are made up of great members...an empire of 100 alliances with 100 members each without great leadership and great individuals would be the best farm the game has ever seen ...and no one would ever complain about them

Re: Why
How do you know thier hiding? What if they simply want to be apart of a great group of people? Maybe they want to be apart of the next stage of a great family legacy, maybe they want to learn how to actually play the game in a teamwork style or play war style all the time, maybe they just simply want to.

By the same token, there are probably people who would go to an alliance for the Tags and the ease of life that gives. Taking yourselves, or alpha for example. Not many places outside FUALL you can sit with say a 300bil defence and accumulate up to 400bil naq. That MUST figure in new applicants minds.
Its a right your core members earned, that some people would benefit from simply for donning the tags. Though I also suspect from the fun ive had with both DDE & Delta, noone gets an easy ride.

So do you REALLY believe every single person in an empire is like that? Not ONE player in an empire is maybe getting a free ride? Hiding from something?
I dare say a lot of people might have thought even you were hiding from some things Jedi.

Re: Why
Well, since the end of the server war we have added 6 new players and lost 2, so the answer to your question at this point is "yes" No hiders at this point and if some did come in they wouldnt stay for long.
and I dont care what people "may say" Why dont you bring that account of yours out to play
your the last.

Re: Why
Actually a fair point, the server war nullified any advantage of Tag protection from anyone but the independants and side alliances.
But if anything that would mean an quick intake of members, and less outgoing wouldnt it?.
But yeh, a war that long must clean out the tag hiders.

Unless the 6 new players are 'hiders' ? Or the old 'Hiders' are very good are Hiding :p
People do join alliances for the tags, for sure. It helps with many things, farming being a massive one. So there are defiantly 'hiders' in nearly every empire in some way shape or form.

Re: Why
If I have hiders they are decent DDE members, so they can stay as long as they participate when called upon. Some may be spies who knows and who cares, not much anyone can do about it anyway.
