I have to agree with Earendil and Universe.

The post was not on topic. I do not see any intention to provide input on the matter. What I see is an opportunistic post misusing the thread to further Roket's campaign for ombudsman.

If the post was made by an user with no/little history I'd just have issued a verbal warning. Considering Rocket's rap sheet though, a warning was justified.

i don't see how if i keep on topic and i follow the rules, i get a warning the warning was for that post AND THAT POST WAS ON TOPIC COMPLETELY!

All i can say is this, i think this is bull i really do, i wasn't trying to advertise, i wasn't trying to promote, i was trying to tell the user that started that post, that i could help if need be, or i would try to help i wasn't tryiing to promote anything, and i'm so sick of everyone picking me out, i'm flaming general, right yet the person that was doing it with me and had the same small questions kept his there, which is irrelevent because thats not why i was warrned, i was warnned for something i really didn't do and something that really was not intended and read wrong, it doesn't matter if this is appealed to by Ombudsman, because i have two of the admins saying i'm guilty on here anyways so what does it matter, all i'm saying is i really did not intend any of it and Ear i'm getting so fed up with you picking me out it is unbelieveable man grow up dude

you do know posting in caps is seen as bad forum etiquette? we all get that you're angry, but repeatedly posting in caps is more likely to just get you another warning! and if you're as close as you say to a perma ban surely you'd want to do what you can to avoid this?

While it is appropriate to indicate something is amusing, drowning out a whole thread with such posts makes it hard to follow for all users.

Consequence:
A polite note from a moderator will be issued requesting the user cut down the amount of irrelevant posts. Repeat offenders will be given one warning point.

The discussion was not served by RoKeT's post, which, and I quote my colleagues here, "was bashing the entire forum system, without saying anything truly relevant to the conversation". Another colleague of mine phrased it as "an opportunistic post misusing the thread to further Roket's campaign for ombudsman". I quote them, so as to eliminate the idea that this warning was my own way of retaliating on RoKeT for his attacks on the Administration.
RoKeT's post was spam, and since it was reported (a user obviously had a problem with it) something had to be done about it. Sending RoKeT a friendly warning PM is something I have done repeatedly, and despite my affection for the guy, he still managed to collect himself 8 warnings already.. most of them for spamming. Since by the letters of the rules, repeat offenders get a warning point, I felt the incident and the report would be best dealt with by warning RoKeT. Trust me, I'd rather not have.. but it's my job.

he dragged it completely off topic and tried to provoke a response and led the thread to be locked.

i believe the topic should be cleaned and reopened and the warning stay.

i can post in caps if i'd like to its up to me, and Uni i like you too, but it was not to promote my ombudsman to be honest with you, Aslong as some of my ideas are implemented somewhere along the line then i don't even want the ombudsman its' not what i want, but i want change, that being said, that is why i posted what i have, You mods i want to believe saw it in the wrong way, but i don't see how you could have completely... i know that your not all bad, infact SS your amazing, Deni you've helped me so much and Uni if it wasn't for you i would be banned, i know your not all bad, never had a problem with Dude ranch or Angnoch, or many MANY MANY others, but it seems to me that Ear has taken more then hostile to me and i understand that so with that you can lock the topic Jim, or Zeek because truthfully Ear and Ze have already said they think i'm guilty so bringing it up to admins is pointless lol... all i have to say one last thing

as a mod when i saw your first post in the thread (something along the lines of "click my link and vote for me") that would have been fine. but down the line you hijacked the thread. you took it from its original discussion into your own discussion of a revolution. where as it was initially discussing the who controls the ownership of the thread and such. So when you took the thread over it became spam.

That is not what was intended, and that is what almost and i were discussing in someways but not at all what i meant, i brought up issues yes more then just that one, but i brought up that one aswell pure and simple and i stayed on that one!
