I don't know.....I kinda like the adverts

And apparently Rhona Mitra guest stars in the second half of the season.....New aliens, some space battles, and sexy girls....if only they'd actually started with that

Re: Stargate universe
I'm curious when they'll follow up on the little ship that broke off Destiny, at the end of 'Air'.

It'll probably be one of those random stargate phenomena.....like three shots with a zat gun makes things disappear
I seem to have a strange optimism that the show might come good now.....but its probably just that I've forgotten how bad it was

Re: Stargate universe
I agree, but come on. Stargate has always been good to us, no? I believe it will continue to be unless the money grubbers get to involved.

Re: Stargate universe
Kinda glad this series started back up again... didn't have much to watch Saturday morning during breakfast. Good to see some actual aliens and battles for once.

Re: Stargate universe
The episode had all the plot devices which should have made it an excellent episode: new aliens, space battles, returning nemesis (Rush), kidnapped girl, etc....but it felt a little flat. Probably the best Universe episode to date.....but I think the lack of a real command deck on Destiny is problematic - too often the characters just seemed to be wandering around the ship aimlessly....
But overall, it was better than most Universe episodes....hopefully signs of a revival in the second half of the season....

Re: Stargate universe
we liked it...
the lack of a "command deck" sets it apart from most others in our opinion...
nearly all star ships in sci-fi have a "bridge" or a "command deck" where almost everything happens...
here we'll get event occurring in lots of places...
there might be a bridge somewhere, but we guess that such is located somewhere in the 70-80% of the ship that they have yet to get access to...
one thing we really liked is the complete inability to communicate with them on any real level... all previous fully sentient enemies in stargate have been able to communicate easily with the "good guys"... (we do not consider pre-human form replicators fully sentient...)
we also liked the size of the destiny main guns... nothing even remotely that big yet gun-shaped has appeared before... (ori just had "dishes", and the nubian superweapon was ship-sized, so not comparable...)
also nice was the complete alienness of the aliens... they werent just a modified regular humanoid...

Re: Stargate universe
I liked the way Rush had this 'epiphany'. He is usually so very in control, and seemed almost desperate at some points in this episode.
Good acting.
And Destiny itself, well.. still more awesomeness. What, 10% of the ship explored?
Imagine the bounties stashed around there.
Heh. I half expect 50% of Destiny to be occupied by an Ancient crew who give our intrepid explorers the feeling of being in control of parts of the ship, but with them actually controlling it.
Yeah yeah.. I'm crazy.
And three cheers for the annoying quadruplets to be trapped.
