Complaint - MODS

I and MANY others INCLUDING other Players/MODS/Admin staff beleive that this is a load of rubbish and that our alliance name should never have been filtered.

I would like the rulling overturned. Arguments for both sides can be found in the below threads.

This originated and still is a personal disliking towards me and my alliance hence the banning...

This is unacceptable...

Not to mention as soon as my topic was closed I was massed by a certain mod... This is surely not the way the world goes around? It's not really a massive deal and I am sure I'll get the "you were in our logs" post sooner or later but eh... coincidence?? LOL.

I beleive there is enough proof to have 1 of 2 things happen... either Certains mods are removed/resign or the re-instatement of our name back in the forums (remove the filter).

Our alliance would also like an apology!

A few comments:

1. The filter is managed by the admins only so it is their decision to add a word to the filter and not the mods. The mods are sometimes but not always consulted when there is need for discussion if a word should be added or removed from the filter.

2. The forum and the game are separated. Actions of users that happened in the game cannot be held against them on forums. This is true for mods as well.

On the other hand: Mods have been massed countless times because of their actions as mods as certain users did not agree with them. So tell me, why should I not be "allowed" to mass any forum user that annoys me?

When non-mods mass other players because of comments made here on the forums, it is perfectly ok. But when a mod does it, it should be held against them?

It is hypocritical at best.

3. I do not see ANY proof that would warrant a removal of any mod or even a slap on the wrist.

the decision to add that word to the filter was made by the triune of admins together, as is common for most decisions... it was not made by any blue, green or pink mod...

2/3rds of the triune do not have an active account ingame... therefore, any care about ingame argument, is rather invalid...

we do not know you, nor have we heard of you before, so we have no personal opinion about you...

To be honest, I agree with the OP that filtering fignut is over the top. Most people don't even know what it means. Most people think that it's something to do with figs. It's not even profanity for Christ's sake. Most people are going to see it as a playful word. But even when taken absolutely serious, it's no worse than idiot or fool or moron or pendejo and none of those words are filtered. Hell, you're even allowed to call people idiots.


So, I really don't see the need to filter it, it seems silly and pointlessly excessive to me, especially since no one was using it to insult anyone.

I'd suggest you go and re-read the threads and also read the above post.

As you have seen I have posted in those threads so it is not far off to assume that I have actually read those threads.

I still fail to see the "proof" that would warrant a dismissal of a mod.

So please, be so kind to sum it up for all those of us who are not able to find any proof in those threads. If your complaint is legit, then a summary of the wrongdoings of the mod team would surely strengthen your case, won't it?

I have read the threads about the filtered word. Not once does anyone complain about being insulted by the word. I personally did not know that the word in question had a negative meaning. I thought it was just a silly combination of the two words.

Ombudsman is meant to be a bridge between users and mods/admins. I am happy to help and i dont think the admins mind me helping users to voice their view.
As for the subject at hand...I agree that the word does not deserve to be filtered unless in the future it becomes a real insult.
