doctrine introduced by the Popes and the Vatican.

pray only to the creator. John 14-13. prayers to Mary and the saints introduced in the year 600.

call no man father. Matthew 23-9. the pope is called The Holy Father introduced in the year 610.

don't worship men. acts 10-26. kissing of the popes feet introduced in the year 709.

leaders of the church must be married 1st Timothy 2-5. celibacy imposed in the year of 1079.

no pray repeating. Matthew 6-7. The Rosary introduced in the year 1090.

and last but by no means least:

only the creator is infallible. Matthew 19-17. papal infallibility introduced in 1870.


there's is MUCH more than that short list above (such as preaching poverty while being the richest corporation and land owner on the planet), but its enough to prove that there is NOTHING holy about either the Vatican or the popes.

i'm not a religious person, and do not practise any religion BUT, Roman Catholicism disgusts me and fills me with total bewilderment how people can flock to either the pope or his false religion....are people really that empty inside they will tolerate such blatant hypocrisy?

Yes. All of us humans are idiots anyway, so it's not that special that people flock to anything. Be it RC, or anti-RC, or Nazi's (I win), or believers in aliens..
All humans seek to be part of 'the' group. It's an evolutionary thing. Not in a group? BAM. You're dead. Next.


So yes, people are that empty, shallow and base-emotion driven. Can you blame them? Have you looked outside? It's better to have wool covering your eyes than to experience the harsh reality: We're alone, and we're killing ourselves.

What you described explained the rise of many heretic movements around Vth-VIIth centuries and then around late XIIth - whole XIIIth century.
People disagreed with Roma position and wanted to go back to the christianism of origins.

Now, I would prefer the current situation of Pope not following the Holy Books than those who pretend to follow literally their books and happen to do much more problems (not christians...) than the whole christianism does in the world as I speak. Not that christianism doesn't cause problems nowadays (but that's +/- limited to Africa and the church stance related condoms and aids for example, would save many of them and limit effectively the spread of this plague.).

i just cant understand how people can be so empty, i really cant...it shouldn't be that way because there is no need for it to be that way.

after what happened to me i have since been in a limbo-like state of existence. i don't have much in this life, my bank account is empty, my car is well...still going (just about), i haven't been on holiday in years, i'm behind with all my bills...you get the picture...but i still think life is absolutely amazing, and how people can miss that is beyond my capacity to understand.

i understand the need to be part of something bigger than the individual like, the green people, religious institutions, the military or whatever, but what i dont get is when the hypocrisy is so bad and so blatant how people can carry on being part of it

Hypocrisy has always existed along with double standards..
People preach a way and act another when it's convenient for them. No matter whether they are religious or atheist. Rich or poor. etc..

i know and understand that mate, but with regards to religion...the lord says to keep the Sabbath (Saturday) holy and keep it as a day of rest because its the 7th day of the week, for those who are religious and have faith should be able to see the hypocrisy better than someone like me whose not religious at all...i just don't get it!

I think a more relevant question is, why are are so called 'faith' schools permitted in an allegedly enlightened society, religion and education are opposites can have no place together, and frankly education should have phased religion out and replaced it decades ago.

You said it you cannot understand that (and you obviously don't, indeed), so don't try to understand why these adults do so, as you cannot, and from the looks of your speech, will not try to either. You are as much ignorant as they supposedly are, as you cannot apparently understand them on why they would do that (doesn't matter whether it's valid or not reasons as it's not the point here).

You are acting not any better here in your speech than religious fundamentalists who state "my religion is the only true one and those who don't follow it are miscreants/fools/ignorants etc...", as you accuse people to follow religions (we don't even talk about sects here which scam its members from all their money...) to be ignorant and chose to follow BS, like a fundamentalist would accuse atheist and other religions' followers.

i chose 1 religion rather than general for obvious reasons...who would want to, or have time to debate every religion?! i sure as hell don't!

i chose Roman Catholicism because unlike some other religions, people can come into it and leave it freely. with such freedom people should be able to see the hypocrisy more easily compared to say Islam....but thats besides the point here.

as i've said, i'm not a religious person but i have no problem with the bible being taught properly in schools. at the end of the day, you cant deny the lack of morality in today's world compared to say 100 years ago when religion was a crucial part of education...

No, I work in the Social Housing sector and you have no idea the how tolerant of all kinds of scum I have to be. And Im not implying that religious people scum, just making a point that I tolerate a lot more than you know. But on the subject of tolerance, religious people are some of the least tolerant, many have been convinced or convinced themselves that they are better than those who dont share their insanity.
