Re: NHL Playoffs
Which one are you talking about? I just fast forwarded through the game. Did see the Detroit player shove Boyle, I think, into Nabokov. That seemed like a penalty.

Re: NHL Playoffs
Again, didn't watch most of the game, Sharks fan, don't follow hockey closely, so i'm willing to admit my opinion is scewed.
That being said, I was fine with the first time he shoved Boyle into Nabokov because you could make the argument that they were fighting for position. It wasn't just that first hit, though, because he hit Boyle into Nabokov and then as soon as Boyle was on Nabokov he continued to shove Boyle down on Nabokov. That's where I thought the penalty should be, was, called. Also, my cousin said he was shocked that a Red Wings goal was waived off...so...yyyeeeaaahhh. There's that.

Re: NHL Playoffs
Really? Then why doesn't someone just wait for the goalie to leave the paint, then check him?

Re: NHL Playoffs
Wouldn't hitting a random player away from the play be a penalty, though?

Sadly, it seems my red wings will not make it back to the cup, barring a miracle

Re: NHL Playoffs
Who's arguing?
This is the perfect storm for that miracle to occur. It's the post-season awesomeness of the Red Wings against the post-season suckfest that is the Sharks.

The reason i picked the Wings is because sharks always choke, but the wings just arent into this post season, ive watched them for years. Its just not the same.

Re: NHL Playoffs
I watched about five seconds of the Detroit game last night, and I laughed at that call in the crease. The erm..hand on puck? When the referee made the call, the puck was under the goal tender.
I just laughed, and switched it off.

It was just sad all around.
Detroit is one of the least penalized teams in the regular season and even in our series against the coyotes there wern't a ton, but there's been over 20 penalties against the wings in 3 days...
Stop breaking the rules then....

Re: NHL Playoffs
The refereeing is terrible this year, I will admit that.
Luongo gets bumped, bowled over, slashed, punched, and not a single goal tender interfearence call.
Cost us the game at the end there, as well. Even if we did deserve to lose for our level of play that game.

Re: NHL Playoffs
The refs always suck. It's simply that this year they suck harder than they have in the past. I have to lock myself in a room when I watch hockey so that I don't scare anyone with my angry outbursts and threats toward the damn refs. Maybe if a few players started taking them out, they'd wake up and do their damn jobs.
Yeah, okay, not likely.
