Re: Gay marriages Do you support them...Political debate

Homosexuality would be a good way to get rid of genetically defective humans.
It is a shame that generally, the most exquisite and excellent of our species fall prey to this rather unproductive form of companionship.

Oh well, live and let live. In the end, it's nature's way of population control. ;) Mr. Malthus did not account for increasing figures of homosexuality in his calculations. Perhaps .. we might even level off our population growth. That would be beneficial.

So yay yay yay, cheer on the gay! They have my wholehearted support.

Ah yes & once again we see the stupidity of the assertion that atheism = faith/religion. Ahh & just when I thought all the idiots had left this section of the forum :(

Not to mention the whole born gay thing, if we are in fact actually born as 'anything' it is much more likely to be that we are born as bi-sexual rather than 'straight' or 'gay' but of course that doesnt fit into your predjudice now does it.

Gotta love stupid relious types

Atheism is a religion.

It firstly fits the description of one,
fits the definition,
operates like one

and it is just like buddahism (in the terms of no belief in a deity)

I can go on but ive said these things before.

Athiesm is by definition a religion. Go read a dictionary.

Atheism is not a religion.
it is the lack of one (as a result of denying the existence of god).
it does not operate as a religion. it does not have specific rites, a clergy, a church (in naither the phisical nor the metaphorical sense).
actually, you can't even properly use the word Atheism. the -ism suffix implies a certain common structure of thought inherent in the word, which doesn't exist in this case.
as for your definitions, the key word is "set". denyin the believe in a deity constitutes, at best, one belief. not a set.

I take it unless its religion approved you wont accept it and science came up with the notice yes nature vs nurture are a combined affect and you forgot the original premise that was assessed that gay was a mental illness and as I have stated you have not definable proof that it is not genetic and claiming its an abomination is a judgment you are claiming superiority no less than KMA but with less severity. This is the very reason why they seek marriage, validation in the courts for funeral rights ect, ect.

I will save any other retort, but do you know any gay or lesbians?

While I do not agree with gay marriage its a definition point not a judgment point or the bible. I came to my opinion through research and going out in the world and facing my pre-conceptions. Simple definition yes, but as I say give em another term to use for the same rights.

Lol, i just quoted the bible.

Leviticus
Homosexual acts are an abomination to God. 18:22

Again you misread, i said acts.

"Homosexual acts are an abomination."

I just helped you with a bible verse, so see, that a. I was not judging.
(Beacuse i was merely stating definitions; Quoting and using science)
b. To give you a bible verse because you gave me one.

I do know gay people, many infact, and i have no issue with them being gay, and they have no issue with my belief.

just cause I dont agree with ya doesnt mean I misinterpret what is said we can quote bible and still be wrong have you ever read a paper in science in the last ten years on development. Here is a fact see how you re-interpret it, it is a fact that gay male have a higher estrogen level than other males and lesbian females have a higher testosterone level than normal females..fact not tell me these are not involved in fetal development.

One more thing Atheism is not a religion its a theology might need to re-check ya definitions..

It is set everyone has a 'set' of beliefs whether it be atheistic or any other religious view.

Everyone as a belief everyone has a religion.

and i did forget to add before:
A United States Federal Court of Appeals has now ruled ruled that Atheism is, indeed, a religion, under U.S. law.

It is involved in development yes, but still doesnt mean you are born gay. It gives you a higher chance to become gay, through infulences around you saying that you are gay.

For example, I may have a higher chance to suffer from a heart attack than others, due to development issues but in the end it is me who controls what i eat, if i keep fit, the type of stresses i undergo ect..
It comes down to 1. Environment, and 2. Choice.

Take for example twins whos father was an alcoholic,
One became a millionare
the other became an alcoholic
When asked what made them this way, same answer, that thier father was an alcoholic and thus, effecting their choices

Overall message, you are not born gay. In addition explain the males who are highly masculine that are gay, worth noting they have average levels of testosterone and estrogine.

what beliefs consitutes atheism, except for the denial of god?
just because anyone has a set of beliefs, including atheists, doesn't mean atheism itself is a set of beliefs.
and the U.S supreme court ruling means didly squat to me.
they can rule that black is white for all i care. wouldn't make it any truer.
what the supreme court actually ruled, is that atheism fits the criterion in the U.S. law as to what is a religion. again, means didly squat.
but i'll let that go.
please support the statement that atheism considers homosexuality wrong.

and i have to say one more thing about atheism. if it is a religion, does it mean there are secular atheist, as well as observent atheists? and orthodox and protestant atheist? or reforming atheist?
i'm not trying to make fun of you, just show you how absurd that statement is.

and

It is legally recognised in Australia that athiesm is a religion, same in the UK.
