abbandon planet bug or unknown feature

recently in less then a week i ve abandoned two duals.

usually when a planet id abandoned its found by smone next turn or after several turns, while wit duals doesnt work that way.

i know that the owner have a good possibility to find his duals stolen and abandoned if he/she sent MS to look for it.

the two duals i abandoned were found by owner , for 2-3 days the Great Abys owned them till owner found em.

its a feature that Owner can find them or a bug

Well known feature; as indicated by admin:

Jan 2009 Find Your Taken Planet
If you lose a planet, which is then abandoned...and send your MotherShip out exploring, chances are you will find your 'old' planet...for about 5 days, at least...
It is not guaranteed, but chances are with you...

From what I know.. beacons increase chances.. and the fact that they're duals does, too.

The Black Market (linked off the 'market' tab) now has dual planets available. There is a maximum of 2 such planets that any one realm can acquire in a calander month - from any source. Ie - if you purchase one, and conquer one ... you are at your maximum for the month. The only exception is that if you LOSE a dual planet, your maximum for that month increases by one.
All counts reset to 2 at the beginning of the month, regardless of how many/when you may have lost previous dual planets.
The thought behind this update is that planets are taking a larger role in the game, duals are exceedingly rare, so over time this should infuse the game with more duals for the planet hunters out there...

it happened wit the last dual i abandoned that i kept spending beacons to see who finds it and for 3-4 days it none found it till i saw the ex owner got it.
if hte dual were found by another player it takes 24 hrs to be able to steal it. si i believe it was around and owner kept sending MS out for 4 days while there are a lot doing it.

yea, as there is a limited amount of peeps who can find one,

cuz so many are at their at their quota for the month...

and that's of the people who can even send out their motherships...

plus, it kinda makes sense that Jason would give people who paid so much $$ for a giant shiny rock

an extra good chance of recovery should it ever get stolen and dumped.

I've never heard of beacons helping... is that more than theoretical, Juliette?

i dont think there are too many that are at the limit but the chances for th owner to find it by sending out for several days.

what its dark is why the dual is being hold for days till one can find it.

there are too many sending MS out to rank up and if only 10 of them were at cap=2 means 20 duals were stolen that month.

also to be at the cap u need to take/buy 2 duals and not lose any.

yep , in the 2 cases i abandoned MS's were sent out till got the dual back

I love it when my Mothership sees 10 possibilities,

and that's the best they can find...

were the others really that far away...

It's not worth Jason's time,
but I wish I could tell my Mothership commander not to bring any income planets home unless I'm on PPT...
