Just curious, Does anybody bother with the Merc Collaboration tech?
For what its worth (over 1 bil for +10% mercs) I can't see it really giving you much back for your investment... (Maybe last era for use against AMS troops)

Thoughts?

Oh, feel free to turn this into a "Who's got the highest techs" thread, even though its probably a little early to waste more then a pinch of naq on techs

we already have a tech topic further down
and i never bothered with it, the price increases as your army size does so it never became worthwhile

Mercs are useful depending on the naq:UU ratio of the era.

If there is a lot more naq than UU it can be better to buy mercs + lots of weps.

If there is a lot more UU than naq then mercs are really quite useless

Also, the merc tech upgrade cost is relative to your UP, not army size

merc techs would have been useful last wave... now if only I had remembered to buy them first before i made them too expensive to be worth it

on the whole tho no they are worthless cos the weapons are so big there is no need to have large numbers of supers and therefore mercs... at least thats my take on it
