then they have a choice to keep the basic 25% in one area or ascend to build up the % in all areas.
if its about making it so they dont have to ascend then maybe there sould be a new tech for them thats as expensive as ascending and increases in cost with each lvl like ascending does that allows them to get the same % bonuses without the need of ascending.

I can see you are trying to be equitable but if it's going to cost the same as ascending, why not ascend? And don't say because they can be decended. While it is true, it takes very little work to get yourself undecendable or you can go the other path and log in enough.

Leg Apophis was talking alot about not being ascended which i thought doesn't really have much to do with this tread or update, in his defence he said those that has ascended get to many bonuses.
i tried to point out ascending is not to hard to do, but if they don't want to ascend ( maybe don't want to play more than one server / game ) then maybe techs that cost around the same per lvl so they have another way of earning the bonuses ascended players earned by ascending..
when i 1st ascended was when your main account was as good as reset, now when you ascend you get a load of ATs, naq and UU for free which as good as covers the cost ascending in the 1st place unless your on the higher lvls of ascending.
i ask one question, just how easy does this game need to be for new players compaired to those that have played for years?
bring back the amount of ATs you could get with market turns and make it so you can ascend each week and a new player can catch up in no time at all and now with planets it even easier for them.
heck back on subject if they use there market turns for merlin and PPT it wouldn't take them long to use planets has they are now to have a nice strike to farm all they need to catch up in no time aswell without having to worry about keeping all their planets safe.( the lack of ATs they can get is what makes it harder for them now )

I'm just saying the gap between unascended and ascended should be limited a bit.
And a tech used for unascended with big costs to counter to little extent big bonuses of ascended ones, why not. Afterall, beng unascended should remain an option for people.

Why should remaining unascended be a viable option? Why should someone new not have to put in the time and effort that everyone else did?

Because ascension shouldn't be mandatory...and anyway...we ascended people have stronger weapons, bigger bonuses, blessing, and mercs tech. I asked admin about making planets be different for unascended than for ascended, next week I will see if I can provide him a clear suggestion, as I thought about that only yesterday. If you bothered reading the last pages you wouldn't have posted that.

That took about a 1/3 of first meeting, talks about planets being more benefiting for unascended than for ascended.

Why would I want to go back and get bored to death from reading long winded posts that go nowhere?
I believe that no unascended account should receive any sort of competitive bonus without making sacrifices equivalent to those made by people that ascend.
If a person doesn't want to ascend, then they can use all the resources they saved from ascending to The UnKnown and put those resources into planets and their MS to offset the advantage. No unascended account should receive a bonus just because they "chose" to play that way. If they want a bonus, they should earn them like everyone else had to.

Proper explaination of my compromise proposal to Forum:
Currently the best way to have the most efficient bonus is to have 10 of the same planet type.
In the "fix" proposed in beta to have the most efficient bonus is to have 10 EQUAL planets of the same type.
In my compromise efficiency is built into the bonus check. The bonus amount vs natural stat determines efficiency not the number of planets.
Each of the planet types has a bonus "pool". The planets of that type add together to form that "pool". The upper amount you can get from that pool is 5x your natural stat.
This has several advantages. Since efficiency is no longer tied to the # of that type of planet that a person has, there is no "losing out" to people with $$. The person with the smallest bonuses(ie new people starting out with only 1-2 small planets) have the same bottom line planet-wise as everyone else. People will be encouraged to diversify the types of planets since they won't need to keep 10 of one kind. They will also have no need to keep "junk" planets because they will effectively be useless. The rates between atk planets and def planets can be easily adjusted through simply increasing the 5x natural stat to 6 or even 7.
While adjusting the atk/def power will help with short term effects of the beta "fix" , it will lead to the same problem cropping up in the future. People still lose efficiency but they just don't lose quite so much. Only those who rely on keeping 1 planet safe(ie the small and midsized players) lose out big time. I'd like to not see the groups that can least afford it suffer the most.

i'm ascending the last few being a queen right now and will be a king tomorrow and intend to go to unknown so i'm well aware of the cost involved as i'm paying it myself right now and putting in all the hard work.
