perg faming

i have a question, probably n00bish but hopefully easily answered.

one of my officers is in perg, and i noticed he is getting farmed in perg, but instead of useing 15 at's he only uses 5 (the person farming)

is this some special technique...it seems to leave alot of naq.

I'd say that's a perg noob who doesn't know he could use 12 turns and get the jackpot, instead opting to go for 5 turns a hit.

Its a compromise - if you look at the logs, the guy is hitting a 2tril def, but only receiving around 10k losses - if he used 15 turns and your officer got AB it could get pretty ugly, whilst declaring war and using 12 turns could have similarly high losses and negate nox/critical if your officer decided to hit back......

I use 5 turns for massing, never really tried it for farming, but from those logs, he's receiving a pretty decent return with few losses.....

You know I am. Rank 3, or any rank, only requires a bit of naq and a few units to arm.
Anyway, I'm sure he has a great reason to do it. Like the one Magni proposes.

It will get you a chunk of naq and doesn't take lots of naq.
Great way in perg coz of the low amount of turns..
