Techs to Cosmetics

Ok, was having a chat with Sabaku on MSN, and we had a thought. What if we could have techs to allow us to customise our user interface, and some game dynamics?

I figure it would allow us something else to spend our Naq on. The ideas we got so far are:

*Customise the colour of our custom title. I know a few people have been interested in this. Perhaps a few levels, which provide more and more colours to players
*Add 1-2 broker slots. Quite helpful when trying to broker 200m uu and 9k AT to people
*Customised text colours. Mostly for the common white text that is used
*Customise background colour. This to help with the customised text colour. So people don't go black on black.
*Add background image. I know this was suggested else where. Perhaps just a few images we can choose from, and have tiled for our background, ascended style

Any one else got some ideas. For cosmetic changes primarily

with this, maybe make it that you buy A particular colour, like blue or yellow, rather than buying a list of colours
this way a player can choose exactly what colour they want

Yes red is dull, Green is better.

I don't mind how it is right now.

I do like the background in Ascended, but will it added game lag. Also how often do you login and think i wish there was a background?

Well if that makes TC more heavier we should have at least the possibility to buy more colours for our custom title and more broker slots.

Same goes for back ground colour. Or how is there more strain with 1-2 extra brokers.
The only one that would cause extra strain would be the background images. But i don't see how bad a 20kb jpg file which is tiled over the back ground is that much of a strain.

If you have it that you can buy them all over time, then you can choose, rather then making a single choice and living with it

It may add to load time, but not to game lag. It's when the server has to calculate stuff that takes for ever (75k accounts, all getting their ranks redone)
Sure, it may not be often, but wouldn't it be nice to have a red background when your massing, or blue when your farming

Some people, such as Jason... here, only focus on the negative and ignore the rest. I'm sure when he said "Extra un needed strain on the server" he was referring only to the background image. obviously has no opinion on anything that doesn't potentially have an issue.

Yeah. Only real strain would be page loads. And that's if we can't find an efficient way to buffer it. For example caching or even some command that calls a file from the users computer and tiles that on the site

hmm, not a massive fan of the picture.

but i do like the rest. but how much would these costs be.

for example if i wanted the extra broker slot. how long would i have it for, will it be 3 trades using it or a week? or permnament until ascending?

same applies to the rest.

Good question Maddog. I would like to say, reset like every other tech, but i don't think this would be a fair method. Perhaps a weekly cost, but am unsure how this may work.

Not when you specify the image on your hard drive yourself. Like you can do with uploading images on this forum

Well for the first broker slot - 3 T

For the second broker slot - 6 T

And for the ability to change the colour of your custom title - 1 T + 1 T for every colour you chose to have.

Green - 1 T

Blue - 1 T

White - 1 T

Yellow - 1 T


Etc.

But,if today you bought Green and tomorrow you buy Blue the next day you can go back to green without paying anyting.

And this is technology , if you ascend you will lose it.

thats the sorta thing i meant
that you could buy an individual colour and keep it until you ascend, and ten buy another colour and keep both till you ascend
