Diamond Dust wrote:Calm down girls eh? No need for bitterness. It doesn't matter how a team wins as long as they win. Switzerland are a very boring team to watch, fact. They lack creativity and flair but despite this, they got the goal that decided the match today. These things happen all the time in domestic leagues. It's called stifling the opposition and is a fair tactic. How else do you beat teams that outclass you in terms of technical ability? Rhetorical question by the way.
Clarkey wrote:This match I feel was the most interesting so far and i feel that it had the most nail biting last 30 minutes of any match so far. This match was far from boring. So if Switzerland is boring then how come this match was very far from boring?
Oh no.. now someone will say "Because Spain is so **Filtered** brilliant." And I will have to shoot them.. :(

'twas the most exciting one indeed. Everyone with a heart rooted for the Swiss, hoping that they might just hold out, knowing full well that Spain was superior.. but if you cannot finish, and the other guys can, then yes.. you suck. Hard.

Now, that's a slighty more realistic reason than the one you assumed, don't you think? :)
So because they performed badly in the past that makes them boring? [-X

LOL well Spain lost this match that makes them boring because after all I expected more from them.

Chile was more entertaining in its match than Spain, yes.
Doesn't mean I will stop supporting Spain, because "sore losers" only support those who win and switch when the team they support loses.

And well said DD. Anyway the commentators BEFORE the match started, said Switzerland was aiming to bore Spain to attack when least expected. So excuses after match? I don't think so...

Excepted maybe those who support Spain? :-k

I don't think you would support let's say North Korea or another underdog team if Netherlands or your second fav team played right?

Re: 2010 World Cup

It's entirely subjective. If you know anything about football you will know that Switzerland lack any real depth or quality in terms of attacking flair, range of passing, style of play and notable players of greater technical ability. They were excellent defensively, solid and structured, but far from exciting. Spain on the other hand were exciting in their movement, their range of passing (particularly Alonso), pushing their full backs forward (notice Ramos) and finding ways through Switzerland who just parked the tour bus infront of goal pretty much with two lines of four. Effective, but not pretty.

It was the tension during the closing stages that gave the game excitement. Exciting football was witness watching the Germans pull Australia to pieces the other night.

Re: 2010 World Cup

Indeed.

Cameroon lost their match, but accusing Cameroon team to be a boring team is foolishness. Japan weren't boring to watch, they were just one of those uber disciplined teams like South Korea is.
Or even Ghana. Those who accuse Ghana to be boring are crazy.

Hell yes I would support North Korea if they played the Netherlands.

I know we'd win, same thing as with Spain, but if we don't.. well.. it's exciting to watch a team achieve so far beyond expectations.

Yes but it seems you are claiming all these others are not boring but the only one you've claimed to be boring is Switzerland and they happened to be the one's that just beat Spain.

Oh yes, i'm sure you will now name others you feel are boring just to try and prove me wrong....

New Zealand, Uruguay, Honduras, Algeria, Slovenia, Greece and even England have been boring to watch. The quality has not been good enough.

You talk utter pony.

Algeria was boring to watch for example. They barely did squat lol.

Otherwise, I would obviously NOT support an underdog if France or Spain played against it.

That is beyond my understanding... :?
I can understand when it's some top team facing some underdog, one supports underdog, but if it's your team/your other fav team playing, and you would be supporting the other facing it, erm...? :smt108 :smt107 Toon_PDT_10

Yes I did post only one smiley on my first quoting, because I didn't know what to answer, so much I was like  .
