What's to pick apart? he obviously doesn't know anything about the american revolution.

He's attempting to infer that colonial america of 1767 is similar in situation to 1970 Ireland... it's mind boggling.

He also stated in his analogy that it would be the Americans apologizing.. but since they were the decedents. Wouldn't it be better for your example if the English were to apologize for the war?

i know plenty about it thankyou kindly, seeing as america has almost no history whatsoever, its not hard to catch up, the point is, that in both cases there was dissent against the british government

the point im trying to make, rather poorly admittedly, is that it is rather stupid to apologise for events which were outside your control, happened years ago (or centuries in the case of trafalger) and where both sides did equally shameful acts of violence on each other
