Gotta question...
Lone wolf player gains his bonus after 24 hours.
What happens to a player that joins an alliance that's already been in the House for 5 days? Does the individual player gain the House bonus within 24 hours as well, or do they have to wait 5 days to gain the House bonus?

Re: Alliance Houses - Discussion
Note that changing your vote 'resets' your join time, and you must wait 5 days after voting/joining to get any bonuses. You are also safe from being kicked out for 6 days after a vote change.
that seems exploitable - if I keep changing my vote - say every 3 days does that mean the 5days get reset? During this time do I get the other benefits of the house - aka no nox against the opposing house and internal peace. the rest of the explanation seems to suggest this.
Therefore this makes the system very exploitable for people as i can remain in the house indefinitely - without bonus true - but with the other 'side effects' still happening.

this is a good point. if i didnt want to be hit by DDE, i could jump in there house, but reset the vote and be safe from farming, altho id get no bonuses, so a pretty fail trade, but xploitable nonetheless

Not true. You can be attacked for the 5 days BEFORE your allowed to vote. So if you cheep changing your vote, you will never get to 5 days, and thus you will always be open to attacks.solmyr wrote:Tekki wrote:Note that changing your vote 'resets' your join time, and you must wait 5 days after voting/joining to get any bonuses. ok, not sure how this works.. but what is the situation if say half an Empire joins one house and the other half joins the opposing house.
Can individuals join a house or is it alliances only?

Then, they'll be at war with each other, as far as the game mechanics are concerned. Nothing else.ƒemme ƒatale wrote:ok, not sure how this works.. but what is the situation if say half an Empire joins one house and the other half joins the opposing house.
Alliances only. "Lone Wolf" has other bonuses to compensate for their inability to join a house.ƒemme ƒatale wrote:Can individuals join a house or is it alliances only?

Re: Alliance Houses - Discussion
Yup. Each house is paired with a 'natural enemy'. For example, the House of Nepthys (Faith) has a bonus to Ascended Blessing. Their natural enemy, the House of Thoth (Science) has the bonus that all Ascended Blessings are negated (theirs as well).ƒemme ƒatale wrote:so the house thing is a set (permanent) war?
Long story short, the houses are paired with their enemy, and the bonuses between them are 'basically' neutralised.

So far, yes, but that's because at the moment no one is an official member of a House yet (5 days minimum until the bonuses kick in).ƒemme ƒatale wrote:and alliances that join the same house, can they still war each other?
I can attack my fellow house members, just tried that. What happens when we're all full members, is another thing. Someone who tried that on Beta might have more information.

Re: Alliance Houses - Discussion
Once you're all official house members, you shouldn't be able to attack eachother as the attack button goes away from the stats and battlefield pages. If you try to get your way around that, you get this message:
You cannot attack a voting member of your own House!
