The Minimum on a normal attack to do damage has been raised from 30 to 35% ..so you now need at least 35% of the defenders defense, in attack power, to mass or otherwise launch a successful assault (or assult). This also applies to mothership damage (in fact, sensing a slaughter, attacking MS will not show up to battle to be beaten...)

BMMJ tested this on beta.
if your strike + ms is >35%, then your MS will engage their MS, allowing you to mass theirs, if yours is bigger
if your strike by itself is <35%, then your MS will engage, but you wont do any damage to their defence

if your strike + MS <35%, then no engagement at all

if your strike + ms is >35%, then your MS will engage their MS, allowing you to mass theirs, if yours is bigger

Nope it doesn't work like that.

If your strike > 35% of their defense the MS engages. If it is not then it does not. It only calculates it added to the MS after it is allowed to engage, so it's not possible to hit with MS if the strike is less than 35% of the defense.
