Well, there is rudeness, blood violence, full nudity without masking, sex/"soft porn".
I highly doubt that they would censor for Europe, more the opposite would be logical.
trust me i did so much research trying to figure out if they were making season 3 or not.. I even wrote to HBO AND got a response.
"A "sanitized" version of the first series of Rome — with toned-down nudity and violence — aired on Rai Due in Italy"
yea its Italy, but Italy = part of Europe..
Italy is famous for their rather prude stance regarding nudity, even though they don't completly reject it, obviously. France well not so much (if at all). I don't think in USA you can see nude women without parts censorship, at 8pm, on an available-for-all channel on tv, here, we can. So considering that, I doubt France would have censored version of Rome. Many movies get rated R in USA (in other words -17) for nudity, and receive barely a -12 or -10 rating in France.
Rome isn't only nudity, it's filled with sex murders and profanity. It decreased from -12 when it was on tv (orange symbol) to -10 for dvd (blue symbol).
I guess that's because we are a secular nation..and thus nudity barely receives censorship.
