and i think jack deer and denis did it earlie bucz its a huge upgrade atm there naq per/turn has shot up jack is somewhere in the 800mil per turn so compared to us at the lvl 1 thats huge plus the uu they got and they will be able to get there UP much higher than we will much faster just with there turn income lol not counting there snipes and feeds from alliance memebers and such so all in all i think it was a great move one there part

Having USS provide an advantage is fine, but this game has never been about guaranteeing that you must buy a USS to win. That's where my problem with this lies. This advantage is so far and away above the norm to be ridiculous. This would also guarantee a 25 million unit headstart to the person who ascends wisely with USS in the end. Can anyone tell me that's fair?

I appreciate forum wants people to spend money on his game, I've done it in the past. But this is going past advantage into a domination.

I of course won't quit the wave over this, but I now feel resigned to finishing outside the top ranks.

Think about it this way though, they're going to be making the UP much cheaper for all of us, AND they are going to have to spend HUGE chunks of their own income to boost that UP, so its not all apples for them, granted they are in a great position

Ace, I've been playing quantum off and on for five years. You can look at my game history. Never before in the waves I played seriously was being a non-$$ spender not an option. Shoot I finished top five without spending a cent once. This update means you must spend, and spend quite a bit, in order to contend. Because I won't, my possible finish is greatly decreased. You can call that whining all you want and you are probably right, but I'm rightfully annoyed at the fact that my pocketbook is now the limiting factor on my finish. Noone is saying that $$ spenders shouldn't get something. They already got a lot by the system as is. This addition to ascension just gives them even MORE of a boost over the rest of us.

I remember Forum saying earlier this week that he didn't want to change the market too much to give the supporter players an unfair lead, which I respected greatly. I'm just curious where that sentiment went.

This is also where a huge mistake is made with quantum. Sure, this way more people will pay for a bunch of USS bonuses each wave, but at the same time countless people are turned off from playing this game at all, people who would buy SS or an occasional USS which I reckon would far outnumber the sales from the few who end up paying so much as it stands now. Forum talks about wanting to bring new blood into quantum. This is not how you do it. You do it by creating a genuinely good game with an interesting concept that people feel inclined to play. Then when you advertise it and people check it out, they are actually inspired by the fun they are having to keep playing instead of ticked off at how the work they do really won't amount to much in the end.

The point of Quantum is to be able to have a chance every reset for people to compete for the win. No matter what came before. People play quantum so they have a chance to actually compete and do well and, hopefully, win. People do not play Quantum to do decently well all things considered. That's where this game fails at what it should be. What it used to be.

I don't disagree with you, I was shocked when I saw those options in the supporter screen myself, I think it is abit much but, seems it has already been used so there is no way to remove it at this point

The only issue I have with USS in general this era, is that there is a link to buy a USS directly beneath the bank, and I have clicked it instead of the bank on more then one occasion, good placement if you want to generate $$'s, bad placement if you want to bank before jack snipes you

You are level 10, 2 minutes before the weekly market reset you ascend - level 11. 1 minute before market reset you get USS - level 12. Wait for market reset, it resets... you buy USS - level 13.

So yeah.... maybe 3 mins

I suppose it is a great idea for admin to make more money...he probably will get more USS than normal

EDIT - by the way... can someone who has bought a USS tell me how the ascension happens... straight away as in we can't get a USS without ascending? or you get an added option you can use any time?

Everyone can get an USS if they work their rear off. I too am very limited by my funds (student, true I've got a part time job but that money is quickly gone sometimes ) and I've sworn not to use my own $ so I'm not. But if I like the era I will try to pay someone in naq to donate for it. I've worked my rear end off since era started, heck I still competed with those who got 10s of billions naq fed.
Meh not that it matters but it isn't impossible.

I'll also try to talk with admin so these free USS ascensions don't work past level 10, heck perhaps even 5 would be a better number..

Meh... if it isn't feeding, its $$ spending. I suppose the only thing that makes this different, is for a change the whiners have a point. Putting in an option like this into a "free" game is morally questionable at best, cos now its really actually a "pay to win" game. That being said, I dont particularly care, I will find a way to compete.

Alot of you seem to forget.

Yes people can get ahead on ascensions, that's a MINOR thing at the moment.
Those same people are going to have more naq to get techs or UP, and both Techs and UP are linked so that they the larger they get the cheaper for the rest. So it's not a huge deal.

It means the race for 13 is difficult, but when you looked at last wave, the way UP is currently blance, the inactive farms had 1/3rd of the army size of Top players, and closer to 1/2 for most players. This wave UP will be larger the ratios should be near the same. ( Leaning towards 2/3rd), So don't worry about it. Your making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Remember I'm aiming for an UP at 1.5-2.5 mil.
