Sexual Reproduction & consequences of non/over use

So Thrillers Topic doesnt get over run with this we should make a new thread for it methinks.

Thriller perhaps you could split out the posts in your thread maybe into this one?

Ok now thats over with onto the subject.

The argument has been made (by Sandman) that over using your reproductive organs leads to future fertility issues.

A counter agrument has been provided (by Myself & Hitchkok) that in fact not using your reproductive organs has a worse effect on your fertility.

Discuss folks :)

The following was one of my responses to Sandman, regarding the topic highlighting the issue

Production of sperm decreases over time if the reproductive organs are not used, over a long enough period of time it can reduce it to such an extent that impregnation is impossible though your sperm not having enough mobility.

Where as having sex encourages production, as said before even daily sex wont lead to any damage assuming you are fully sexually mature & have a diet that is healthy.

Did you even pay attention in biology class? or was it against your beliefs so you just ignored it? Did you even take sex ed classes? How can you not know these things??

EDIT: In respone to the 'its not an argument' thats just semantics & you know it Hitchkok, what woud you like it called exactly? Its an opposing statement, otherwise known as an argument, in the same way that 'X + Y' has two arguments. Sweet jesus, thats all you had to say?? Why did you even bother to post just to say that?

Sexual Reproduction & consequences of non/over use

For those who havent read the 'Sex before Sacrement' Thread heres Sandmans argument regarding this

The facts are; if you choose a life of promiscuity you run high chances in getting;
Unexpected Pregancies,
STDs,
Relationship issues later on.
Fertility issues.

That is reality, not scaremongering.

We're focussing on the bolded part here really.

As this little gem right here again from Sandman

A life of promiscuity can effect fertility. Rather, should i say, Infertility.

Wether this be another effect of STDs, or the lack of time for men to recuperate and replenish supplies.

again its the bolded part thats relevant here

Re: Sexual Reproduction & consequences of non/over use

I wouldnt call my post an "argument".

EDIT: Well, first of all, an opposing statement is not an argument. It is a statement.
An argument consist of a premise ("assumption") a logical proccess, and a conclusion. My post lacked the second, and either the first or the third. Probably the first.
But enough of logic. My post wasn't an argument. More of a pun. Thriller and sandman got that.
I also think this "debate" should be stopped. If we have a phisician who's knowledgable about the topic present, let him give us the answer currently accepted by the medical science. If someone else has a convincing way to put forth an answer (preferebly, citing an actual research), let him do that. If not, let us remember it will be the meek who will inherit the earth.

Thanks to capitalism, when your doctor tells you you require a kidney transplant to survive, you no longer can be certain if you actually need a kidney transplant or your doctor simply needs a new speedboat. Nice.

Without a long term study, lots of porn, far to much spare time, being a bit insane and a microscope it's hard to know for sure

But as the old saying goes

If ya dont use it ya lose it

I'd say that if you didn't use your reproductive organs you'd get some sort of muscle atrophy down there, like premature aging. It happens with older women hence the wonderful invention of KY, or spit, the devils lube...

Re: Sexual Reproduction & consequences of non/over use

I'm fairly sure it's been proven that sexual activity is good for your mental health... I don't have any sources to cite, but it does seem rather logical.

Other than that, I don't think using or not using your sexual organs has any positive or negative effects.. aside from the risk of STD/I's when you are sleeping with multiple partners regularly.

Re: Is sex good for your health?

I accidentaly changed the thread title in the process of merging... So i picked one I thought that fit.

You can change it back if you want kit... i'm not going to get the rest of those posts though (cause i'm lazy) and i'm not sure if they really matter or not. Unless you let me know if there is one you really want included

spit, the devils lube...

Re: Sexual Reproduction & consequences of non/over use

Causes of male infertility:

Impaired production or function of sperm.

If you are healthy, you produce a certain amount of sperm and semen in a regular period of time. Some men make a lot rather quickly. Some men take a lot longer to make a full supply.

The length of that cycle is determined by genetics, age, what you eat, and general health.

When you have too much, you don't give your body adequate time to regenerate and recharge. And, you drain out too many nutrients from your system.

Sperm and semen require a lot of specific nutrition. Some of these nutrients include Zinc, Omega 3 Fats, vitamin Vitamin E. All of those nutrients are sadly lacking in the common Western diet. This has a major effect on prostate health and sexual health!

Your body does not want to make bad sperm. It tries to make perfect sperm all the time. When it can not (most often because it does not have the essential materials, ie: nutrients) it shuts down. You become impotent.

Too much sex uses up the required nutrients faster than you can replenish them. Even if you are consuming enough nutrients, your prostate requires a certain amount of time to recuperate and produce semen.

Eventually, when you have depleted your prostate and testicles enough, you will become impotent until your body can replenish itself again. If you do not replenish your system adequately, your sex life is over. Permanently.

Mine wasnt an argument, mine was a fact. Stated how it is.

To point out:

I just like to point out that while having sex might adversely affect your fertility, celebacy just point blank eliminates it.

Here he didnt give a counter argument. He simply stated that if you
celibate i.e not having sex, you arnt producing the opportunities to enable someone to become pregnant.

In a technical sense a 0 fertility rate.

Re: Sexual Reproduction & consequences of non/over use

all arguements thus far seem logical...

the question that I'm curious about is how much is too much...

for fertility as well as for sexual health...

and there can be issues for women, (the disgusting, dreaded, blue waffle)
and I'm sure for men as well,

with having too much sex... (likely more than once daily...)

For the record, I personally have no desire to have biological children...

and very little desire to be a parent to any children. :P
