PHPBB3 Forum help

I am trying to add a calendar to my forum. It isn't a mod for the forum. It is a php calendar. I would like to make it into a mod per say. I would like for it to use my forums template and connection strings and perms.
The calendar was gotten from here

is is public usage so no worries there.
