It also plays a part due to the contours which shape water flow...

Land mass effects the climate due to this controlling factor, particularly participation.

It makes more sense to see it as the Northern-Western Hemisphere (Does not include USA) would be frozen over as the North Atlantic Ocean has a sudden in temp, due to ice melting ect... would cause a freeze.

How do we know this? Ocean currents and surface currents.

Stop the currents.... Freeze!....

What does this have to do with global warming? Well, it is evidence that it is a natural correction cycle. Has happened time time again.

It heats, CO2 rises because of the heat, heats more because of the added GHG. Then there is a correction.

Re: An Inconvenient Truth

The melt water hits the ocean currents and interrupts their flow. We know this has happened in the past.

Don't be flipant.

He is talking on past evidence concerning water currents.

If your saying that understanding history plays no part in understanding the present or future, than that unvalidates 90% of all your posts Avenger.

well they are already unvalid but this just compounds the idea

this. Those who don't understand the past are bound to repeat it.

i wasn't saying anything so stop trying to read to much into it. i was merely stating the obvious with the obvious point (well, obvious to most) that the earth has gone through many climatic and even apocalyptic changes/events and its still here...obviously!

you don't know just how true that statement is...but that's besides the point, what are you talking about, human history or the history of the earth? :? :?

Let me fix this:

The past repeats itself. Those who don't understand the past are less likely to adapt.

dont you think thats a contradiction? i mean, if you don't understand something how can you adapt?

anyways, this is all i have to say on the subject:

If you own any shares in alternative energy companies I should start dumping them NOW. The conspiracy behind the Anthropogenic Global Warming myth (aka AGW; aka ManBearPig) has been suddenly, brutally and quite deliciously exposed after a hacker broke into the computers at the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit (aka CRU) and released 61 megabytes of confidential files onto the internet. (Hat tip: Watts Up With That).

just to clarify something, that article was printed before the full facts were known, it wasnt a hacker, it was a whistle blower inside the East Anglia CRU.

anyways, link to full article can be found here: http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/james ... l-warming/

and have a gander here as well: http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSLDE6791WI20100811

LMAO!

so carbon credits have hit rock bottom-7cents per tone from all time highs of $7 per tone, in short that means the Chicago climate exchange otherwise known as CCX has crashed and burned. that means that man made climate change is total bull-crap, as was proved that Al Gores film "An Inconvenient Truth" should be renamed to "An Inconvenient Pack of Horse Manure".

Pure Luck, Simply put the odds are someone will atleast know how to adapt just out of random chance.

On topic:

Interesting articles.

However, alternative energy is not useless only some ways are not economically viable. Despite the fact or argument that Anthropogenic Global Warming is total BS. It may as well be. However, we will run out of fossil fuels. Sooner or later.

And for the benefit of a nations health population wise it would be better if there were 'cleaner' ways instead of polluting the cities slowly killing us all, which im sure the government wants so they dont pay out on pensions ect.

Added, the term global warming and putting caps on emissions is away to stunt developing nations for coal is cheap. Dirt cheap. Without coal no electricity...

Water barely absorbs any heat, and then it stores that very small amount, but it is much harder to get water to heat up.

developing nations aren't beholden to any of the laws the UN or EU have made (EU because no developing nations are signatories :P) and the U.S. refuses to sign the kyoto accord, though California did.

Also, water stores heat better, that's why coasts stay warmer than inland during winter. look it up if you don't believe me. It takes a lot to heat it up but it doesn't let go of that energy very easily either.

they may not have signed up but the 3rd world leaders are in on the scam, not so much from the front end of things, they are going along for the payouts where as the UN, East Anglia Research Unit and all the other scientists at the top feeding us all the crap about MMCC (man made climate change) have alternate agendas, its not simply about the money for these people.

regardless of that, you only have to look at how country's like the African nations are living to see that someone/s have their foot across the throat and are strangling all industrial development/improvement.

the vast majority of 3rd world civilians in this day and age have no basic luxury's such as clean running water and electric lights...something we in the west take for granted, instead what we see are these charities asking for handouts by showing us images of poverty stricken people covered in flees and if we pay just £20 a month we can help give them a water pump which will serve the whole village...WTH is wrong with this picture when the leaders of these flee covered peasants are going to the IMF/world bank and taking out loans which have clauses like "to qualify for this loan you must sell off your water rights, including all streams and rain water to foreign multinationals"?

the whole thing makes me sick.
