Re: Petitions to ban users

aka Mob Rule

If they're not doing anything wrong (aka breaking the rules) then they have every right to be here. If they are doing things wrong, then they would be breaking the rules, and would not be here. I don't see any bright side to making a petition to ban someone.

Well if they're not breaking the rules and just being annoying then the Foe Button would be the best course of action.

I understand there are pros and cons to this idea, however the good outwieghts the bad imo.

Would be happy to explain it.
An outline of what you think the pros and cons are would be appreciated.

Tetrismonkey wrote:I know this sounds rather far fected, but I would like to know the Admins take on petitioning to have a user ban.

Please consider this as its a very valid question. If you do agree or don't, may you please explain why.

Thanks

Re: Petitions to ban users

Indeed.
While it would at times be very practical to ban annoyances, it would be wrong to do so if they do not break the rules. However tempting it would be.

It has taken years to build up an relatively fair system here on these forums, and having "petitioned bans" would not be all that fair...

In the name of the gods, Browsers shall be changed to carry the internet out amongst the peoples and we will spread Firefox to all the unbelievers. The power of the Firefox will be felt far and wide and the wicked users of IE shall be converted to use the true browsers."
