well to improve the game it takes a section to work coz it needs the problems to be addressed and then to find a proper way for a balances solution
for the guide to be worked same thing a section
and guides for: starting the game, ascending guide, build up guide
section for guide can have votes that at the end will approve it and it goes online, guides can be posted in forum and via link in accounts

The other help/rules guide needs to be updated though, i doubt many noobs would come on the forum looking for guides...(in their new stage that is)

i havent had time to read all of the points on here and i will do when i get a chance.

some of the stuff mentioned above i picked up on and to comment.

new players starting out, give them an incentive to start. maybe have a choice like the races it could include a 1 trill ms, 10 ascencions, covert 35 or 100 mill miners. something like that to give them a boost.

as for the houses well tweaking and adding aint going to get them far, we had fun with them now scrap them

my favourite is lets do a massive marketing campaign and spread the word

The best marketing method is us, I am sure we could all joining many different forums for any kind of genre we can find and have the link in a sig or something..I found the link by being a regular on the sci fi channel forum by linking to another forum and there the link to this game was.

On the point of new players having to be insane to start playing this game...

If you want Jason to do something, you simply have to tell him. What Jason does is listen to the majority of people that talk to him, not even the majority of the people just the majority of who he talks to. Right now and in the past the majority of people that talk to him are concerned with making their account better and that's what most of the updates are going to be driven towards. The update that will make one's account better depends on the account and that's the debate that usually happens, "well the update makes YOUR account better -- but not mine! I don't like it!"

Well if you want to make an update that will help new players that are just starting out, and quite possibly and probably hurt your accounts then you're going to have to get a majority of people that are talking to Jason to say that's what you want and also how to get it done. I believe the exact point of this "Galactic Council" being made is to create said majority and to also find what will be the best solution to the problem for everyone.

What is yet to be seen is if you will be able to create and maintain the majority and also agree on updates and ideas to get the problems solved, assuming you all agree on what the problems are. This point applies not just to updates helping new players, but to any update to be put forth or proposed solution for a problem.

As I said before it's a noble effort and would be great, but being the cynic that I usually am I don't think that it will pan out. That is unless whoever is in charge is extremely devoted and resourceful.

it's true, a lot of accounts younger than mine,

are better than mine...

especially back from the time when growing one's account to top 100 strength was possible in 3 - 6 months...

I'm no longer such a newbie player, or with such a newbie account,

that I don't sympathize with the desire of many to stay above those who come after us...
especially those in their 3rd year or better in this game...

You've lost your major selling point (SG related), you've all pretty much lost your balls and need to realise what crap your chatting when an 'ancient' thing like myself rolls around to see wars have become 'friendly team exercises' that do their best to avoid propoganda and annoying anyone. It's a simulation of war.. since when are enemies meant to be friends?



oh..and of course it helps not to wear a t-shirt. No one decided to like Star Wars because they saw some 4000Lb guy walking around with a t-shirt of Vader's helmet on it. They watched the bloody film!

People are after violence and a good time, not hugs and manners. "Oh I just massed your defence.. great effort to everyone, well done for building one so I could destroy it. I'm just going to go and lie down on a cloud whilst I serenade my alliance mates with a song I wrote to express my love. Feel free to come, I am baking some angel cakes after I finish your MS off." ARE YOU HAVING A LAUGH!? Respect should be earn't not handed out as standard.. that only serves to demean it.

You want my advice..best place to start is to stop this **Filtered** footing around and go back to basics. When this game was at it's height the slogging that went on over this forum during a war.. it was drama.. it was arguments, revelations and things you wanted to read. Now I wouldn't know whether to drive myself to suicide by submitting my eyes to one of Rocket's post or whether I should insult the very fabric of what made this game and go read the GC.

And Jason...lol. FUALL and TL put your cash spending together and buy the game it'l probably be cheaper than buying all the coolers needed to make hell freeze over.

PS. I also agree with Brdvas 100%. If you want this game back to the top you're gonna have to give up something you've all worked for to make it easier for people to join.

It could well fail inded but hell we may as well give it a shot - and indeed the more powerful will have to make sacrifices in order to bring competitiveness back into this game

- scrap houses (utter farce and geared to give power to the already 400lb power accounts )
- make initial races before ascension more appealing...like gauld and thier unique cool ability when you attack with them
- determine a definitive system of warfare to ensure eitehr victory or defeat...none of this drawn out sniper rubbish
- covert updates suit those who are fully ascended and leave the rest of us at a serious advantage so scrap that as well
- ill come up with more but for the moment im gonna watch footy

Needless to say as Semper stated - the basics need to be looked at and the updates repealed...

As for the bonuses, no. I have none of those through all the hard work I've done besides ascensions

Depends if everyone has IRC - msn might be more availiable but ive recently jsut installed IRC aka chatzilla so I wouldnt mind testing it out for the first time
