Alliances in this game?

For newcomers to ask questions to the other users... this section will usually answer most questions... requesting resources (naq/UUs/ATs) is not to be done here...

So if the server was split down the middle who's side would you jump in?

Alliances in this game?

Hey all,

I'm new here, i was introduced to the game by a buddy of mine, who explained the general gist of it all.

But the one thing i don't get is the alliance make up?

So I'm slightly confused, so let me put it out there.- I doubt the % are a true reflection but I'll add them in any-hew

1. The Dark Dominium and Omega Empire are the strongest alliances, they lets say have 35% of the server that have great accounts on there side (which seems pretty boring if so many strong players are on one or two side)- but these two alliances are in league with each other,so they never fight (which makes 65% of the server on the target list who a lot weaker than the above alliances) - and when a strong alliance comes along they quickly destroy it :?

2. Rico's are a powerful war alliance, but they have a Nap (not sure what that is? but they don't attack each other -is that right?) with the above two alliances, so they don't fight them ether (so why are they called a powerful war alliance when they won't take on the strong alliances?)-so the percentage is dropped again to lets say 60% of the server on the hit list

3. Then there is Mayhem and Chaos (who are also both very strong alliances) who are also in co-hoots with the above two alliances or Nap'd so again the percentage is dropped.

4. Which leaves the next two alliances, The Legion and The Pirate Panties who i have been told are also very strong and they sometimes fight the above alliances.

5. Then there are a heap load more alliances who are by themselves but won't attack the above alliances because their accounts aren't very strong......

Soooooo...... whats the point of this game? if all the strong players are all on one side and the remaining strong players don't want to get together?

Advice please should i build a strong account that can match or hold it's own against the above alliance members......then join them?

Re: Alliances in this game?

basically nobody who still plays will say anything negative about the OE and TDD (to politics and egos >.>)
every so often a large group of players do band together to fight OE and TDD, which is what the last server war was about (SW3, yeah?)

NAP is a No-Attack Peace (where the two parties will not attack each other, but dont necessarily have to give help if the other party is being attacked)

a few of the odd alliances in the game often expand into empires, such as Hidden Village Empire, Omega and The Dark Dominium, Tauri Alliance, Mayhem and Chaos are beginning to start one.

basically the server wars happen because of a conflict of ideals, same way the US has the republicans and the democrats
problem is, a lot of people dont realise that just because you depose the big bad wolf of the day doesnt mean that theyre gone forever, or there wont be another wolf, or you wont become that wolf

EDIT: mayhem and chaos were part of the OE and TDD empire, but split for some reason. some people here know why, but i dont ;)

Re: Alliances in this game?

never really been around for a server war
i started part way through the last one, though i think that it started between two alliances, and spread from there

Re: Alliances in this game?

Yeah as others have suggested start with an independant peaceful alliance and build your account and go join some people to war with.

As to what the point of the game is? You really can make your own point, aggressor, defender, builder its all your choice, but the most important thing is to build a community of friends around you. This for me is the only point in the game and is what makes it good.

Re: Alliances in this game?

A Server War starts in pretty much exactly the same way World War I started in you're familiar with that. There are two major sides, and each side has separate big alliances, but they have treaties with each other that say they go to war together and protect each other. The last Server War was TJP vs FUALL. There is no TJP anymore, pretty much all that is left is The Legion, The Pirates Panties, and Tauri Alliance. These alliances are not related and friendly like TJP once was as far as I understand though. So as far as I see it, it would be pretty hard for another Server War to start seeing as how FUALL has no superpower enemy.

Like other people said if you want to join an alliance like TL, TPP, DDE, or OE then you should first join an alliance or empire that doesn't war and require a nice account (mostly) to join. Choices aren't as slim as you might think. Obviously I recommend you join HVE, since I am in it...

After you try the game out for a while you can decide yourself if it's fun or boring, but at least try and make a group of friends in an alliance and give a good try before deciding it's pointless because you will never be able to contend with FUALL as a whole or TL as a whole or anything like that.

Re: Alliances in this game?

first let me give you a basic break down of treaties :)

NAP - Non-Aggression Pact
A number of parties agree that no attacks will take place between the two or more parties. If anything happens to break terms of agreements, all parties involved will wait till everyone has sat down at the table to resolve the dispute.

MAP - Mutual Aggression Pact
A number of parties agree that the only acceptable actions are fair and profitable hits that consist of NAQ or UU. NO massing, sabotage, planet theft or other forms of war are to take place. If anything happens to break terms of agreements, all parties involved will wait till everyone has sat down at the table to resolve the dispute.

FMP - Full Military Pact
Same as NAP, but additionally if any parties involved in the pact goes to war all parties involved will come to aid other parties of pact in war. If anything happens to break terms of agreements, all parties involved will wait till everyone has sat down at the table to resolve the dispute.

these are the basics of treaties :)

Secondly I recommend joining an alliance that suits your mentality of gaming. If you are a peaceful player join a peaceful alliance. If you are somewhat of a neutral person join a independent alliance. If you are a aggressive player join a war alliance.

Thirdly, no matter your play style learn how to act aggressive and defend your self and your comrades, when needed, NO matter the cost. Even if you loose people will respect you and they will think twice about initiating a quarrel :)

Lastly, try to solve your issues in a calm but straight forward manner. Don't be offensive and do your best to make who your talking to understand your perspective. Words can get you and your friends in a mess ;)

Good luck, and I hope you come to find an interest in the game :D

Re: Alliances in this game?

If you are looking for an alliance that wants 0 conflict then Phlegethon is for you.

If server war 4 comes then you can always just jump in regardless and fight for one or the other or, and it isn't an option in your poll, you could always just hit whoever you want and farm them all :D
The forces of Ghoul's Assassin break off from main attack force, and seek out spletstesser's Undercover Agents!.....With 156,771,387,021 power remaining, they manage to eliminate 1360922 of spletstesser's Undercover Agents!

Re: Alliances in this game?

Pretty much what all the others said.

As a new player, you are best off learning the ways of the game before fighting. Get your account ready to be able to fight, rather than jumping in beforehand...

As for an alliance. Peaceful alliances are fun to be in if you find the right ones. However, they are occassionally more inactive, as they are more laid back, without such a neccessity to be logged in. I found HVE is probably the most active on forums and such for a peaceful alliance.

War alliances are so much more active on forums, however. They have more stringent rules, well, the best ones do. This means more commitment, and of course, you need to be a lot more powerful to be able to keep enjoying yourself, as if you are in a war with somebody like DDE, you are going to be statless for the duration if you dont have a good mothership and plenty of skill at farming and fighting.

As for which war alliance/Empire is best. I cannot say, as i have only been in 2. It is all down to which style you prefer to play. FUALL(colletive name for omegan Empire and DDE) are commonly conveived as the bullies, and people claim they try to control the server. I found that being in this Empire was a great way to learn the way of war because of their organisation.
The other alliances (barring mayhem and chaos) were, in the last war, attempting to stand up to FUALL to try to make the server more fair in their minds. I haven't been in most of the alliances on this side, but from the outside looking in, they are very powerful, and have a very similar playing style to FUALL despite what they claim. So really, it is about where more people that you know are, or it is about which side of the ethics, **Filtered** and politics you want to pick.

Re: Alliances in this game?

TPP, Mh, TL and RW... all powerful alliances, which, if working together, would have a shot at winning in a war against FUALL.

Re: Alliances in this game?

its a uber risk posting in this thread.............

but in all honesty

OE are strong not as much as they where last year but dnt get me wrong its all to people leaving the game and selling up......getting bored etc....

same with DDE but they stil kept a sort of Dangerous Oder around them so they are stil strong......

The thing with TPP,TL and Ricos that makes them strong isn't $ spenders its pure team work + activity and all the best players in 1 group which makes them a dangerous opponents./

Really? FUALL was better last year? I always thought they dominated this year :smt017 .

I fixed grammar, btw.
