Yeah...okay... :roll:

Norton is almost as much of a hog as McAfee, so I don't feel it's worth it.

Sophos works pretty well, but you have to pay for that.

So far as free programs go, I find Malwarebytes to be the only reliable one that can get rid of nearly every problem, including the face antiviruses I keep seeing users getting in the past 8 months. I suggest using it with another antivirus program that is unobtrusive, live Spybot or AVG.

AVG was that ... till microsoft took it over .... starts rivalling mcafee already on the memory hoggin occasionally.

Likely true; I haven't touched AVG in about 2 years.

I went to town blasting Norton off a computer today. The damn program was set to normal security measures and still blocked the internet connection. I was glad to rip that **Filtered** out of the computer's system. :smt081

And this new Microsoft Security Essentials.... :smt043 Microsoft's firewalls (and everything else created by the company) are so damn easy to invade, what the hell makes people think they can create a halfway decent antivirus program?! :smt017
