WLM 2011 Installer Error 0x80040609 >_<

Does anyone know what to do?

Something else than the official and less official ways mentionned on windows site...(firewall on/off, install offline version, remove the ".cache" from common files/live...)

PS: the solution must fit for a windows vista laptop.

I'd honestly just try to re-install.

But saying that I know that the new version has been heavily criticised for problems like this.

I'd say try and get a slightly older version?

Step 1: Uninstall WLM
Step 2: Install MSN 9.

MSN 9 also known as MSN 2009? (the one I was forced to update from)
Or is it one of the MSN dating from 2007 and before?

Q Man I tried the "offline" version (155mb file which doesn't require to be connected, was mentionned officially as one of solutions) to reinstall it and it didn't work.

On a side note, I have "smart uninstaller" programs, already used them in past, was rather useful, but this time I don't know if it's really a good idea...

What's the worst thing that could happen.. you'd lose MSN. There's always gtalk, and such. My program works with almost all. Even skype. *chuckles* Though I hate that.

I didn't use gtalk yet, for now I will use ebuddy.com, the site I used when I had my rl problems in the early months of last year.

Next friday & weekend I will try to spend some time again on the matter..I'm not going to give up on this one.
