Re: Bertuzzi

Doesn't look intentional but I think they had to call the major. He doesn't deserve a suspension though, those should be reserved for intentional head hits like cooke's.

Re: Bertuzzi

It's a tough decision.

There are very few cases where I have seen any player skate back into the boards when a puck is involved, so I think it could be an intentional hit based on the way he came into it. However, there is also the chance that he was turning to go after the puck and unintentionally had his elbow in a spot that connected with Johnson. My gut tells me it was intentional, but I have no strong feelings to argue for suspension beyond the 5 min penalty; they lost to Chicago, that should be penalty enough.

Re: Bertuzzi

Right decision, by the looks of it. I'd imagine that it could have been worse had the elbow connected fully but from both angles it looks as if it clipped his face. Nothing major.

Penalty is automatic in those situations. Same **Filtered** happened to us, except it shouldn't have been called, to us a while back and cost us a 0-0 game to a loss.

The league has made it clear that any hit to the head, boarding, etc will be an automatic penalty. Regardless of the degree of it. Lame in some cases, but at least they are standing by the calls.
