even 1 repair / turn ruins a successful massing then whats the point of preparing an attack when wit one klik all units , weaps, repairs of taking a good defs go waste.
there is no benefit in this alliance repairs rather it is 1 /turn or 10/day its still stop a successful strike.
alliance repair and ppt features were debated since the begining, they gave birth to huge def's that takes considerable amounts of resources to mass figure out that by using these two features the striker get stopped and even counter-attacked by his target or other involved.
this has resulted in maintaining huge def's for long time and building bull accounts.
its not interesting at all massing while u know there is a good chance yr target will be protected by a log watcher or even repaired all the time u massing it. ppl will stop massing and resources wont be used. activity will drop due to losing the real insterest of the game.

You shouldn't leave important decisions in the hands of a mob of people who will, essentially, only follow the hit of the day. Provide feedback? Yes, that could work. But strictly ingame. Don't link people to the forum. I think two things need to happen.
We need to bed down the well received massing update without the controversial changes to alliance repair/ppt.
Then we need to start a dedicated discussion thread (with a poll) for Alliance Gifts.
My reasoning is that Alliance Gifts is a broader topic of discussion and should include
Alliance Repair, Alliance PPT and Alliance Banks.
Then we can all find out what Jason has hidden in the back room

ok - last tweaks and will let it ride to test the balance.
I agree that less repair is better, so reduced. upped the 'full' by one more too. and added a slight phase reduction per used repair.
This is now in game updates:
"**** UPDATE TO ABOVE: <br />
1) The alliance repair has been slit into all weapons (6 per day) and defensive weapons (30 per day). <br />
2) Each repair is equal to a half turn of phasing removal (a turn reduced attacks against counter by attack turns given per turn, while alliance weapon repair reduced attacks against by half this). <br />
3) Alliance PPT has been changed from 12x1hr to 4x3hr ... this should make it a bit more strategic to stop a massing. <br />
The change in repair allows more control over massing prevention (without stopping a consistent effort at it), while stopping/severely limiting 'free' farming."
hopefully this balances things a bit - i was tempted to go 3x3hr alliance PPT -- but that can wait if we do it
also you got yoru 'how many used' in the dropdown of gifts, and the 24hour kills on left nav

not sure i can/should/will/did/etc get rid of alliance repair completely. besides, it should be harder for the masser, than the massee, to accomplish goal
little less sleep, or the 3am wear-down, for the masser
or help from a friend...

actually most of the times alliance repair is used to prevent a massing of repair huge strike while farming, each alliance has 3 ppl that can repair weaps.
i test a massing using 10t strike vs 5t def, i did three repairs of 500-600b each while the other one can can benefit of a fast repair from alliance repair and not take out 500b to repair its def weaps.
the defender benefits of 3 ppl that have the ability to repair weaps (and temp ppt). due to leader, 2ic and 3ic rotation it happens many time that one fights vs smone with ability of alliance repair resulting in low cost vs high cost weaps repair ( 1 to 50). defender is pretty much covered at this point rather hes online or not. also the striker loses in units are more then the defender.

it should be harder on the masser then the person being massed, but should also be kept in perspective. There are not to many repairs anymore, 30/day is a much better perspective then 10/turn. 30 could be enough when the alliance is in large scale war but if not and then a few only are fighting then for sure its more then enough to stop 50% of strikes vs their alliance.
moreover u ve 3 days off ppt and some hrs in between to prepare yr strike in 1vs 1 which makes it more difficult. also i disagree that the defender should have the advantage. its the striker whos spending time, effort and risks while the defender might log rarly or is in off hrs altho the def losses are in weaps which striker can save them. however the counter strike is devastating due to auto war. so all in all both get each-other stats so costs and risks should be equal
