Well, it is quite fun to own an infinity of galaxies over ascended, and it's sometimes fun to descend other people who don't deserve to be ascended.

the real purpose is to prevent yourself being decended and having the ability to decend others.

when you get decended you lose your Ascended Bonuses on main for a couple of weeks ie reduced income, weaker account
