Glory and Reputation Suggestion

This is kinda my first shot at doing a game suggestion, normally I'm a staunch believer in the players of chess don't get to posit a new rule. However, that being said, I have a suggestion about Glory and Reputation. I did a cursory look around, and didn't see anything similar, if I missed it, I do so apologise.

Glory and Reputation is gained by being in the top 1,584 of ranks, and as such is something of prestiege. Gained through hard work and the sweat of your brow, you can empower yourself through further ascensions with these GnR points. My suggestion is this; when scouting around, I saw numerous players in the top 1,584 who are either Dormant ( Vacation mode on ascension ) or Descended ( <--- ) and to the extent of my knowledge, they continue to gain Glory and Reputation, as long as they are in that range.

It is of my opinion, that those who find themselves descended or dormant, should not be able to gain Glory and Reputation. If you are descended, I believe you should simply not gain Glory and Reputation. I believe if you are on vacation mode, you should lose 1 ( 6 if you are in the top percentile where you get 5 per turn, and 11 if you're rank 1) Glory and Reputation, just as if you were on Nox. The reason why vacation is obviously harsher is, it's kinda your choice to be on there, where as being decended isn't mostly.

There's no Glory in a descended / hiding being.

Agreed 100%.

It makes game sense (ascending being easy enough as it is, this could help spice it up a bit more), it makes story sense (as said: a deceased/away being doesn't build its reputation - which is all GnR really is), and it makes tactical sense (use it to stop/slow someone's ascension).

Being descended I agree you shouldn't gain G&R and maybe lose some per turn. Being on vacation.... time stops, therefore no gaining or losing of G&R. Don't punish people for taking a holiday.

Well, I guess if they vacate in main too they shouldn't lose G&R, only if it's vac in ascended and not in main...

Yes then if they vacate ascended but not main just so they can protect their ascended status then yes they should receive some decrease in G&R in addition to their bonus.

But people going on holiday shouldn't be punished.

P.S. I didn't realise the original post was referring to vacation on ascended only (dormancy), that's what you get for skimming reading.

why not just get rid of the whole problem, when you vacate in main you automatically vacate in ascended. and you can't do one without the other.

I agree it's not such a great idea. Also I do think that one day Jason will open ascensions again as many many more people are at UnKnown now and it's not a rare site. If Jason opens ascending again I would recommend that the G&R required for ascending is a lot higher than 1,001. Lets face it, if you are at 23rd ascension then getting 1,001 G&R is easy so it should be tons higher.

While I like this it's unlikely since I'm sure at least some of the accounts have been relinked.

But sure, vacation in main = vacation in ascension = good.
