PSA: Bravery

This is a public service announcement to any individual that lives in a rural area with pets.

I was instructed by my Dad (as on many occasions) to get the smaller of the two cats inside, and so I went upstairs and looked down from the balcony thinking it was the smaller cat. I was VERY mistaken. I looked down with my flash light, and it was a massive raccoon. I made noises to get it away, but instead it insisted on trying to get into our house so I went back inside to look for little pebbles to throw at it. After locating some, and beginning to throw them at it - he walked towards it rather than away from them. I threw them to lead him away as I was confused as to what he was thinking or doing only to see him stop, pick up a tiny rock, and stick it in his mouth and chew it before spitting it out and then moving back towards the glass window below.

Moments later, he moved towards the steps and what I see is my larger of the two cats hissing. The dumbass seemed to sneak outside while I was looking for pebbles, so I made loud noises and stomped to scare the raccoon away only to see my fat cat chase after the raccoon and hiss at it some more from within a foot of the raccoon this time as if taunting it. I went around the corner, and tried to grab the cat quickly but the raccoon swiped at my cat and my cat ran back a bit but still made hissing noises. My dad comes out and says "Grab the damn cat!" Yeah..no.

After a moment, my dad got a Vuvuzeula and blew it as loud as he could while everyone was asleep and kept going until he chased it over the fence. :smt042

This is my message about bravery of my stupid fat cat. I thought I would share this hilarity and stupidity with you all. :-D

Re: PSA: Bravery

...Anyone know an individual who can remove wild animals from populated areas and put them in a good safe environment?

I came out of my room after playing a League of Legends game to find my mother and sister making loud, rediculous girly noises while screaming "FRASER FRASER, GUESS WHAT?"

Turns out the raccoon was inside our home, in the garage, and my sister and mother opened the garage.

Long story short, I threw an apple, and it chased it from inside my house to the fence. Win. :P

My fat cat was inside hissing at the raccoon again, I take it. Stupid **Filtered** cat. Now the skinny cat is no where to be found. It's pouring rain, and the damn raccoon came back to the window again.

My siblings decided to throw **Filtered** at it. Potatoes, cauliflower, grapes, pebbles, and ice cubes thus far before my parent's raged.

Little Cat.. :(

if that raccoon is truly staking out your house, it would be better for the little cat to stay away and undercover until the morrow.

I shall keep little cat in my thoughts and prayers.

Re: PSA: Bravery

I found the little cat hiding underneath the lawn chairs a bit later on. The raccoon must have moved on for the little cat to come out.

I'm all fair to animals, but this raccoon is starting to make me worry. It's either hungry, or just not afraid of humans. It comes right up to the window, and I put my hand against the window and it scratched the window then sniffed it..

You are joking, yes?

Re: PSA: Bravery

Blame my siblings, and besides, we needed something to throw at it to scare it off. I wasn't all that interested in going out after it in the pouring rain (and I mean pouring) while it was pitch black and all I had to defend myself was a flash light and/or a child's stuffed bat. :P

Re: PSA: Bravery

lol... raccoons are kind of cute...

kind of like wallabies and koalas look cute up here... 8-[

raccoons also have a habit of getting into trouble they can't easily get themselves out of,

clever enough to get themselves into a fight or stuck in a tight space looking for food...

damned beyond all help getting themselves out...

like cats & squirrels... ferrets too, I hear.

Rabies: take the temperment of the tazmanian devil,

make it into a deadly, contagious infection, (like the cancer of the taz devil),

add in that it transmits to virtually all mammals, including bats, cows,
pets, and people...

make treatment for humans as much fun as diabetes... (stomach shots for humans),

and as far as I know, vaccinations for pets & livestock,

and a slow painful death for everything else,
including just about any animal without a current vaccine...

and you have rabies...

and raccoons are notorious for having it...
perhaps a bit more than they should be...

I am surprised no invasive species has managed to bring it to Australia yet...

but I am sure that it is only a matter of time... :P
