I dont want to send my MS out atm, I like my current planets and am on ppt so no need and not an award/ mission I need to obtain..

so beginners entry lvl for new to game

elementry for ppl that know the fundimentals, like ppting

midclass-

advanced- for players such as yourself JT

entry could be ME based.. but I know that is flawed too with ppl purching accs etc maybe a check list of things you already know how to do as well

like I said, very good for learners

Isn't this meant for newcomers though? And whoever is registered on it now is basically testing it and providing feedback. So the people that will actually be using it and benefiting from it in the end are newcomers, so does it need a tier?

BTW Nostra, I've just got around to reading about this and you're doing an awesome job. :D

P.S. once registered it sits on the page saying this: Success, you have registerd.
You will be returned to the main page shortly where you can log in.

It doesn't take you to the main page.

Its a progression, and even us veterans start off, the immediate tiering (if thats a word) shows up in the types of medals that will be displayed for us. Now the basic elements of this as you see now is basically for beginner yes, and the veteran to elite type things are coming. If you would be patient and please please keep giving feedback on your progressions.

Like I said just got around to reading this. :-D Therefore I see what femme is saying, because with some missions such as send MS out some people won't be able to achieve.

EDIT: Just saw your second reply. *thumbs up*

Absolutely. It's exactly what people need, especially new members cause with the game on its own there's nothing to aim for besides stats right at the beginning. Missions and achievements are exactly whats needed.

Re: Testing: Rookie Central, The camps

Whahahaha :P
ohw lols

A little side note on the beginers and experienced members part.
When you start and do the first welcome mission, your stats are taken as a 0 pointer. This effectively levels the playing field for everyone.

All the stats you make after the initial mission earns you things.
So it doesnt matter if your a rookie or elite.

Ofc a rookie does not have a mothership yet, or a planets for that matter.
I'm working on some mroe thought out missions which explain parts of the game better.

I'll update the main post in a few, as I added a lot of material and JT provided some sweet medals and ribbons :D

Re: Running Live: Rookie Central, The camps

Nostra wrote:Hi,

On behalf of DDE we have developped a special website which we decided to share with the public in order to help train new players and give the more veteranned players some nice missions :)

Rookie Central can be found here

It has grown quite extensive already and many people signed up and are using it.

The idea behind it is simple, with a registered account, you log in and select a mission you want to do, and provide data from gatewars to log your millitary experience. From this, information is extracted to see if you meet tthe requirements for the mission in question.
And depanding what you did in game you either succeed or fails missions.

Missions vary from taking a ppt to raidig several million uus in a certain amount of turns, or kill things with not too manny losses.
It should be fun for everyone to do and feeedback on missions would be great.

At the moment there are well over 30 missions, and many more will be added to provide long term mission gaming. The beginner fase, or rookie, has been fully implemented, although certain missions will still be added or adjusted to fit the better needs of new players.
I've build a missions manager interface too :-D , to realy quickly and easily add new missions or update them.

Certain factors not fully work but are minor details, like time based - not yet active. Or performance - not fully developped yet. Keep that in mind.

It is hosted on the web server already, but I still consider it to be in a testing fase.
If you get an error, please provide me with feedback ASAP so I can take a look at it and fix it.
Development is still on going as many more things are being added.

IMPORTANT: your Main ID,when you sign up, must match the in game id of the account you use.
This shouldnt be a threat, as it is used to prevent from cheating with posting stats too xD .

Extra: A whole range of millitary experience ribbons have been added and a line of medals for the beginner fase/.

Rookie Central uses similair ribbons as the DDE ME ribbons, and has its own line of medals.

Where as DDE ME Ribbons are based on the Total ME experience,
Rookie central uses the ME accumilated since joining Rookie
central and doing the welcome mission.

Apart from the ME medals, there is also a line of special medals, these entangle:

ImageThe Rook Star: given to those having done 10 missions.
Image The Rook Star Bronze 1,2,3: Having done 10 missions in less then: 5000, 3000 and 1000 turns.
Image The Rook of Promise 1,2,3: Having done 20 missions and raided more then: 10m, 25m, 50m untraineds.
ImageThe Rook of Greed 1,2,3: Having done 30 missions and stolen more then 25T, 100T, 500T naquadah.
Image Complete more then 30 missions to complete the beginner level and become a Soldier. After this the beginnner missions are gone and new missions will appear worthy of soldiers.

Soldier missions are not yet implemented. These will be added in the coming days.
More to come...

Feedback about missions, errors, or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

tip: When doing the first 'welcome mission', don't have your stats too high ;)

Thanks in advance

Dont worry about the details.
It is stored in a sepperate database and your current military stats are not shown in the system.
Also not to other DDE members ;) DDE can only see DDE members stats.
And in a few days, alliances will only able to see their other alliance members their stats.

I am the only one who has access to everything and I steer clear of details, you'll jusy have to take my word on that.

Other stats, such as turns used, and naq farmed, they do show, in 2 bits, totals before joining Rookie Central and totals since joining Rookie central. (they can be found under the status buttons) this will also show you the other players medals and ribbons.

Also, millitary stats are fleeting as it is, you can have certain stats at one point and totally different ones 5 minutes later ;)

This system is not a cheap way for DDE to gain intel.

Correct me if I am wrong, Nostra, but cannot details from the command page that are not visible on regular spy logs, be edited out before posting?

It will make player more secure if they can edit/change the non-spyable parts so no "critical" info is stored.

Well, some missions are based on the increases in power, or expecting some values, so they can not be edited out.

It is quite simple realy, if you are affraid your details get stored, then don't use it. Mind sound harsh, but simply put, this is not a system to etract information to be used in any other manner then to provide some extra fun and training.

Also, I am developpig a bit called "Account advisor" which will analyse your account set up and give tips to that. Which will in fact require the account set up details. But again, this is only visible for the owner of the account.
