COVERT PHASE

I have a 16tril strike, 200b defense, 0 covert and am covert phased, and my opponent cannot do anything to touch my weapons. This bug needs to be fixed because I do not feel it is proper for me or anyone else to play exploiting this feature.

Re: COVERT PHASE

I have noticed this also on 2 dif people... target remains covert phased for multiple turn changes.. nobody is sabbing as weapons remain exactly the same.... this is either a rather odd bug to only affect certain people or something more shameful being purposefully exploited.

Re: COVERT PHASE

yeah its not a bug... some guys in OE used this and got their own members to do lots of failed sabs to compensate for low cov levels whilst ascending, which i supose is fair enough for people with low cov levels and gives them a chance agains the mega ones.

althoug in your case, i supose it is a bit bad ..

Re: COVERT PHASE

I believe we should bring this up on admins meeting if no clear answers are found before that.

im pretty sure it does though, because the person i was trying to sab had the same amount of weapons, despite being cov phased after turn change :S

How is this even a bug? You covert phase someone you cant sab them, what did you think would happen?

Re: COVERT PHASE

No off-topic chatter please, this is not about $$ spending. This thread is an enquiry as to whether this is a bug or not. If you know it is not then feel free to give good reasons for it. Otherwise I suggest someone ask game admin about it at next meet so that he can give a proper answer. Thanking you.

Re: COVERT PHASE

As this is not quite a bug in the true sense of the word, and it is more an opinion of how the game mechanics shouldn't function I have moved it to the suggestions forum as that is the closest area that relates to it. If you feel this is not correct please don't hesitate to contact me via PM.

Re: COVERT PHASE

I suggest phase ought to work as 1 not in 2 parts.

Re: COVERT PHASE

Not a bug, but it is very frustrating sometimes, and covert phasing seems to happen very fast compared to nox phasing.

I would agree with it taking more sabs to covert phase rather than remove it all together, and it should go down every turn like nox phasing. Combining attacks & sabs as you suggest seems a fair way to achieve this.

BUT

I STILL THINK SABBING SHOULD DECLARE AUTO-WAR same as attacks and raids do

Failed sabs don't work. But successful ones do, no matter how few weps they get ;)

For earlier debates:

Although I must say, I find it strange that everyone wants to increase the power of sabotage further...

It needs to either:
1) Allow much more sabbing per turn change. Atm, after covert phasing, I think it only allows 1 sab per turn change for a good 2-3 turns afterwards. Perhaps get this moved up more towards 5?
2) Covert phasing affected by total wep points sabbed. Atm, someone can sab you for 10 weps per sab 50 times and then you're safe to build whatever strike you want. Perhaps make it so that the phasing works per wep point sabbed (ie: you build loads more weps the next turn, you unphase because you've got way more weps)
3) Something else....perhaps have it so when you attack you become unphased after a certain amount of ATs used....or maybe lose 1 turn's phasing per 100ATs used, etc.

But I will say, any of the above make sabotage much more powerful....something I thought a lot of people were wary about....

Changing the sab is a terrible idea.....yes it's annoying, and I get just as frustrated as anyone...but sabbing is very powerful if done right, so why allow $$ spenders another advantage by increasing the amount of sabs?

Re: COVERT PHASE

Good suggestion, Repli.. ;) But I would agree that sab is already too powerful. :P

Just shouldn't be able to attack while phased.
