Epic threads..

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=13064

Ok a bit of background..this is when we first ascended. Neb massed me with help from Esker, Fremen and a couple of other guys. Within a day I retaliated by taking out Esker's and Neb's alliance mates and basically Neb was massed 3 times so badly that by the end, he went from one of the most powerful accounts to almost nothing. This attack is also the reason why Esker was never again seen in public in SGW again. He knew that if he did, I'd respond. I did go through alot of their accounts in ascension and those who had stats in main.

The issue with brothercrit was this. By this time, the 7 former leaders of the TA had broken off from the TA and formed an alliance. The name escapes me right now. There was a peace treaty signed with that alliance. So when ascension came out we ascended, and Jay6669 thought I would be weak and attacked me for naq, basically breaking the 'peace agreement'. So I began massing him, he was online and being sent repair naq and such by SC Thor, so I simultaneously started massing them both. The beauty of it was that Jay sold off his heavily damaged weapons and I got all that naq. So anyways both were massed, and their reaction was a sight to behold. The two of them started swearing at me on the chats, supported by Nuto, who at the time was friends with them...well it was all epic..perhaps I'll dig out the transcript some time.

So the two of them decided to attack other Omegans..rather foolishly considering the quality of our playerbase. They had sent all their killable and unwanted farmable resources to brothercrit to store, and as we hadn't declared war on the rest of their alliance, they were getting away with it. But of course it couldn't continue. Brothercrit was told that if he didn't want to be involved in the war, to return their troops. Around this time I had to go to hospital, spent a few days there and by the time I had returned, the situation had deteriorated further. Crit was already a marked man and when I made it to MSN, the attack was close. Now don't get me wrong, I would have agreed to the proposal in any case. He was helping the enemy quite puclically with his stance. So he was massed. I think it was Jake who did it. And after that I believe all their alliance were massed..soon enough they ceased to exist.

As for nebbie he carried on cheating and so was banned. Final confirmation: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=22208

Here's a curious fact. People think updates now are bad. At one time I had the highest up in the game..5k odd (alot by those standards)..and JUAN had a UP in the 120s. Guess who had the greater total UP? One could have a hundred officers. And that was how I was introduced to this game. Some chap named _Apophis__ messaged me as I joined and threatened to sit on me if I didn't become his officer. I laughed and told him to piss off. Shortly after I joined SC Thor as an officer (yeah I know!!) and quit a few weeks later when I started farming ppl like Opti and so on, and he messaged me, "don't mess with them". Wrong thing to say to lil old me! lol

PS: And the destruction of _Apophis__ occured all in good time!

So anymore epic threads out there?

Ah, I remember this thread. 'Live action' in forums was quite a good read back then! :)
I didn't remember that happened so long ago, November 2005. Wow!

Indeed.

I love reading the old threads, brings back good memories. Oh I loved the day when Nebbie was caught and how many of us waited for his PPT to end. He had a huge army size back then, 17 mil or something *lol*

What ever happened to Setesh btw ?

Here's a good thread where Flavar in 2007 speaks about old players. Hehe which is fun to read because we do that know and speak of players since then. So we did it back then too. :)
(Not really epic, but it's fun to read IMO )

Re: Epic threads..

Hey Rhett, there is one thing you left out about Esker leaving for good.
There was a tragedy in the family of Josh, Jake and Jeff; Esker used the timing to strike at the accounts of the brothers J and it was ordered by many friends and enemies of Omega that should Esker return he would be sat on by all for using the loss of a child to time his attacks after the community had been informed of the event and why none of the brothers J were around and their accounts sitting open as none had logged in since the news was shared.

I remember all the politics and behind the scenes stuff that got things rolling but if you remember I took down the highest percentage of TA accounts and earned the first ever Hero of the Alliance Award in Omega, lol.
That was a fun war.

Gotta love this one:

Similarly, I believe that people in general are inherently flawed. Deep down, we are programmed to hurt one another; either physically or emotionally. People are naturally selfish and greedy; governed more by bestial urges than common sense or ethics. Society is a terrible thing, too. The more supposedly civilized we become, the more immorality and decadence become the main staple of our daily diet.

Before Lost concluded, my main flippant excuse for not killing myself was that I wanted to know how it ended. I will get back to you with a new one when I find it.

CIA vs CoPs threads, loved those.

(there's plenty more though)

I would also say, the war threads between AK and Hell Lords.

The ones called Old SKooL TA/Shagadelic Warriors (not sure if they were the same)?

Cannot find threads with Mouth of Tok'ra vs Goa'ulds threads.

However, those two threads are rather interesting

I would not call that one epic, but it was somewhat iconic.

The SEVEN vs. Heavens Warriors always struck me as an epic thread of the more recent era. ;)
