Does anyone know what episode (if at all) where they dial the gate to Atlantis?
Or was it just the beginning of Stargate Atlantis that was it?

the first time they dialed to atlantis was the first episode of atlantis but I believe there were 1 or 2 SG1 episodes where they dialed to atlantis too. some ZPM stuff I believe ... not too sure though.

Re: SG1 Question
SG1 solely or SGA? Because in SGA they dialed during the Siege for example.

I use this as well, but I could find nothing. So I'm just wondering if it is between the Season 7 and 8 gap or a bit further down the line..

Re: SG1 Question
The only episodes of SG-1 that I even recall Atlantis...
- The multiple reality episode where all the variations of the SG-1 teams came to earth. Then they took the Odyssey to Atlantis where that evil SG-1 team tried to snag the ZPM to take back to their reality.
- Season 9 episodes 1&2, but Daniel was going on the Daedalus.
- Early Season 10, when SG-1 takes the Odyssey to Atlantis and confronts Morgan Le Fay posing as the Ancient Database hologram.
SGA had a few episodes where Earth dialed Atlantis.
- The first episode"Rising"(?) was where Daniel discovered the 8th chevron.
- The episode where Atlantis was sieged by the 3 wraith hive ships and they brought the rail guns.
After Midway Station was built, SGC never really dialed Atlantis directly. Technically they dialed Midway, then the 2nd gate at Midway dialed Atlantis.
The only other time Atlantis was dialed after that was the episode where Wolsey took command of Atlantis... at least I think that was it.
But to answer your question... SG-1 never had Atlantis dialed on their show.

Re: SG1 Question
indeed... we too cannot recall any event where they dialed Atlantis in SG-1. Closest episode would be the Pegasus project, but as mentioned earlier here, they traveled to Atlantis using ship.
Because of ZPM issues, the dialing generally went only one direction, from Atlantis to Earth.

"Great holy armies shall be gathered and trained to fight all who embrace evil. In the name of the gods, Browsers shall be changed to carry the internet out amongst the peoples and we will spread Firefox to all the unbelievers. The power of the Firefox will be felt far and wide and the wicked users of IE shall be converted to use the true browsers."
Curious about our color? Feel free to ask...

Re: SG1 Question
They never do in SG-1. They only times they dial another galaxy are communications with the Asgard in..... two episodes.. no three episodes and then twice with the Ori. Both dialling the Ori home galaxies.
They're 'searching' for it in season 7 and find what they think is it in 'Lost City' but that turns out to just be the outpost.
They attempt to GO to atlantis in season 8 but fail when Vala Maldoran steals the Prometheus. They go there in season 10 episode 3 to dial the super gate which is the most direct cross over except in SGU when Rodney McKay and Woosley operate with Telford on Kelwana.
As for the other way round (in Atlantis TV series). SGC dials Atlantis once at the end of season one of Atlantis and then a few times when they have the gate bridge at the end of season 3 through 4. Other then that, again it's never. As for Atlantis dialing the SGC they do it loads when they have the ZPM. Beyond that SGC usually use Deadalus as the return method which happens fairly often.
And I dare anyone to call me wrong. I know my SG nearly as much as I know me Star Wars. XD
