Should only be used if you mass a defence by atts and take it to 0. Then you can sab weps. Then you must wait 8 hours. If no defence built then suicides can begin.

If you sabb a defence away then mass, you must wait 12 hours

Also alliance/officers cannot sab there own commanders/members.

Attack Regulars are used BECAUSE of alliance functions, basically alliance functions ( PPT/repair ) killed off massing so people use Covert/AC instead and untrain them when they log off. They are trained into attack regulars to avoid creating lifers. Remove alliance functions and reduce sab back to 2% and this 'killing attack units' update would not be needed.


If this is going to go ahead I would agree that

1) Def should be Zero for it to work. Unarmed untrained men simple cant get past an armed trained def.

2) There should be 2x kill ratios, if the attack regs/supers are armed then unarmed lifers should die at a high rate, say 10-1. If the attack regs/supers are unarmed then a lower rate, say 2-1 since one unit are trained fighters and the other are not.

3) The standard 10 Mill lifer assault should use an appropriate amount of ATs per hit, say 100 ATs

Small stat players and snipers wont be effected as their small stats still arent worth sabbing or massings due to sab % and cost of ATs

The effect of using lifers to kill attack soldiers, and creating more lifers by people training/untraining spies/ACers when they are on/offline, while also reducing the number of UU on the market by taking away the best place for raiders to store them will be a vast reduction in the army sizes of all active big stat fighters. The opposite of taking out snipers.






IMO a better idea would be letting the strike fight as a def say at 75% of normal power after the def has been taken down,

Example

Player 'A' has 1 trill def and 10 trill strike, def gets massed by someone and player 'A' phases

Player 'B' comes along a few hours later when player 'A' phase meter has come down, player 'B' will need to build a 7.5 trill strike to match and take down player 'A's strike fighting as def.

This way the attacker ( Player 'B' ) has to build a strike to take out players 'A's strike instead of getting it for free with lifers without training/building. And Player 'A' can leave more spies out since his strike would also have to be taken down before cheap ACing.


To add to my earlier comments above ^ I would also suggest that lifers be removed altogether, and allow ACers to kill other ACers.

Also as previously suggested by me and others

1) Linked stats are still the best way to get rid of snipers. If your strike/Def have to be within 50% of each other everyone who builds one will have to build the other, and everyone who masses will have stats to retaliate against.

2) Sabbing should set autowar same as attacks do

3) Alliance functions ( PPT & repair ) should be removed, and every house should be able to pick it's bonus from a drop down option so every alliance can have an equal choice bonus they want.

These and many more great suggestions have been made and discussed by the SGW community and ignored while bad updates & tweeks keep getting introduced promoted by individuals looking for personal/alliance/empire advantages.

This will increase sniping. A player can calculate how much they need to make a snipe run and after put everything in miners to build lifers up again. The strike will be used up on the run and the defense will be minimal. So if adjustments are made to where more supers are in the kill zone then people will stop playing more and more because farmers will have their units sniped off, players can be brought in to lifer for a friend and this game will become more and more a stats builders game and much more defensive.

Define sniper. I just do not see how the the reasoning for these updates is logical. The more functions to the game the better yes, but these reasons and calculations being posted makes not much sense since they are predicated to stop sniping?

duh the updates are suppose to give non cash players a chance to fight against cash players,,

Sniping is when you buy only a strike (no defense)mass with it and then sell it off before someone with a huge covert has a chance to sab it off. THis gives the person being sniped a chance to kill the supers that the sniper has sitting there safe and sound, And also gives the person forced into sniping a chance to destroy some of the strike that he cant get to due to not having the covert.

I Honestly dont care either way, This game went to hell a long time ago and No matter how many tricks admin pulls out of his but He will never save this dieing Horse.. To many much funner games out there.
The only thing that has kept this game going this long is 2 things, People Liking other people and people HATING others.

True, I agree. But I am a master at sniping, and these new updates will make it easier for me, especially if the autowar on covert ops is put there.

I have 3 friends also that have accounts but do not play, they will just log on when I ask them too and do a hit for me and I will clean up. And when someone gets mad and sabs me and gets a autowar, it will be too easy.

I've changed my opinion on this and am now against it. Maybe make it so that normal trained attack troops can be killed with this.. ones that are just sitting there to protect UU.. but definitely don't make attack supers targetable.

this update wont improve or prevent sniper accounts. in fact some previous updates have improved it somehow but also the lack of activity is a factor to improve sniping.

There is no need as my posts are within the context of this thread. The updates mentioned will increase sniping and as some have stated previous they want these updates to further deter sniping. Furthermore I am merely pointing out the consequences of said proposed updates. I do like them, but they will not produce what many think.

As admin said forth in his initial thread

With the change to bank, basicly making miners optional, and the ongoing issue of accounts able to 'hide' from retaliation by training attack units, and removing covert and def, (not especially fair ...), the following change is being made. How it works can be discussed.

When you lifer suicide an enemy account, AntiCovert (AC) units will die; so too will attack units.
What will the cost be to get a super attacker? regular attacker? attack merc?
What order do they die in, or do they die equally by the amount you have (ie by percent).?
Maybe supers are not killed until the defense is zero ?

Will you still need 30% of a target defence in attack to use lifer suicide, or should it be increaesd? (to 50% 100% 150% ? )

What else should be considered?

What this will effectively do, is stop the 'untouchable' accounts, make lifers a bit more useful, make having a defense more useful, and make ppl think twice about their actions if they cannot hide forever :)

I am merely sharing my thoughts in the "what else should be considered" segment.

And to reply to admin, I do not think players are "hiding" as you say, this seems to be more of the opinion of players that want to kill allot off of others accounts whilst not losing much themselves as they do not ever have big stats to begin with, as a matter of fact they are in effect snipers and their ability to continue as such as I do will only be enhanced by this kind of change.

thats why you need a higher death ratio.. lifers shouldnt be able to fight to well against super soldiers .
