As seen tonight there was heavy police presence in places like Lewisham that had violence, but other areas that were hit have no police presence. With the random targets each night I find it hard to believe it will end in a few days.

this wont stop for a while i agree... the things that saddens me is everything i have grown up with ie: the shops and local businesses have been destroyed in a space of a night :( and there is nothing i can do about it or the police can do

they are just mindless thugs taking advantage of a situation showing no mercy burning everything down :(
That's why I'm hoping Bromley isn't targetted. I've spent my whole life in this town and it's never been rocked by anything like this.

They had ample opportunities to calm the situation down and took no action, keeping quiet rather than making sure the public could see investigations & justice being done.

And we dont have freedom in the UK btw folks, we have serious controls on pretty much our entire lives.

It's only in countries with freedom that you can voice your disagreeing with the gov and its policies...But it's not the subject.

In my opinion, European nations are victims of their soft, tolerant and compromising policies. I don't blame that stance (it's not really nice to live in a openly repressive authoritarian state), I blame the parasites who take opportunity of the lack of lack of freedom (sounds bad but see what I mean?).

They throw stones (metaphorically/practically), and when they are hit back by police, they cry bullying by society/police and "get revenge" by rioting. They are the cause of their situation, and as a matter of fact have no excuse for their actions.
Problem is, due to their unlimited stupidity and ignorance, they also target fireworkers, which keeps the fires burning.

I have no sympathy over the situation, as it is simply the natural result of trying to control your population from the cradle to the grave & beyond.

Are you siding (read: understanding/justifying the situation as caused by the institutions and not the thugs themselves) with the rabbling yungster rioters? :-k

I fear it requires a State of Emergency if it keeps going on for the worse...

Kit-Fox wrote:The destruction & any loss of life as a result of these riots is of course unfortunate & its a shame its come to this, but as I have said this is the end result of do doing what UK PLC has been doing for the last 10/20 years at least.

That is ignoring the people of the country & deciding that they know better than the population about how the population should live & forcing the population to live in a manner they want.

Ultimately this could be seen coming when labour destroyed several legal standings that have centuries of evidence to support those ideas (such as double jeapordy & heabus corpus) & arming the police force.

The majority of the UK populace who have been paying attention are at breaking point and it only takes one lil slip up by those in power or the police to provide as it were an ignition source for the powder keg.

I serious doubt that these are the motives behind the riot. It's a thug mob mentality at this point that goes far beyond sense or reason. They do it because they enjoy it, not for any politically motivated reasons. I'm sure a few people who started the whole thing were, but then the morons who just want to steal and destroy things joined in and made the situation fifty times worse. I would bet any of the politically motivated rioters have long since quit rioting and let the thugs take it over.

Exactly. It is very easy kit-fox to blame the police and government for anything that goes wrong in this country or any other country. However, think about this, everyone in the country is affected in some way by what the police and government do. But, how many turn to thuggish violence like this? A small minority, so what makes them any more special than the rest of us? Nothing. So the only ones to blame for this violence is the brainless thugs themselves.

What you don't seem to realize, and nor do these rabbling rioters, is that most of time the ones who suffer the most from their pyromaniac tantrums are...their own neighboors, who, unless I'm mistaken, aren't really "rolling on gold" themselves. Whether you burn shops or cars/buildings of neighboors, you will make suffer the average Tom as much if not more than the so called "guilty" ones of the situation you revolt against.

But that, the rioters never come/want to think about that, go figure why...

Clarkey wrote: So the only ones to blame for this violence is the brainless thugs themselves.

Exactly! Coupled with what I said above, there's no "heroism" or "courage" in their action as if they were to be the fighting arm of the people or something.

Re: London

shoot the thugs, then we'll have to pay less taxes therefore less benefits given to them.
