Here's a thought, it is called Glory & Reputation so make temporary military experience a part of it, so having stats aren't enough alone; it requires current activity to get G&R over that 24 hour period.
EDIT:
One more thing, give ascension a facelift already, the incomplete banner and bad cg home page could use some updating; I mean, how many times has main had a graphics update so far and not one for ascension?

Sounds like a good idea to me, but there would have to be a daily cap... other wise it's just too easy.

You're already capped at 2 week waits between ascensions
Maybe to elaborate on ^ideas^
Have it that after a certain percentage of ME is achieved one GnR is added to your turnly GnR
Then make this addition compounded with a cap of 5+ GnR per a turn
Then have that increase deplete 1+ GnR two turns meaning if you got to 5+ it would take 5 hours to reach natural GnR again
Restrict this addition to accounts within the top 0.1%
Thus putting a 2 day massing streak with in the top 160 a plausible alternative to PPT'ing for 4 days
Edit1: The amount of GnR can be tied to ascension number and the trading cap of UU, so that it has a continous grow

I really like the idea of getting G&R from kills, makes far more sense than getting them in 8 day PPT runs with big stats no one can touch and the ascending player cant use. but TBH it wouldnt be fair on those ascending with low covert/AC levels. This would only work if you didnt lose Covert/AC when you ascend ( which would annoy many who just finished ascending the old way ).
G&R still needs a use for those who have finished ascending, my personal fav option was using them to come back from descension early, or trading them for significant amounts of ascended resources. But other option like making them tradable in the market place for Merlins, AT, etc are also have merit.

If people ascending with levels say 33 only fought other people ascending with level 33 then it wouldnt be needed, but for anyone in wars the norm seems to be if someone with level 33 builds up to fight, someone on the other side with level 37/38/39 will slaughter them.
To play & fight with the big dogs you need levels higher than people can afford to replace on every ascension, so to get G&R from fighting you would need build up your levels and keep them when you ascend.
Just my opinion, been a long long time since I ascended and TBH with the amount of dirt cheap Unknowns for sale I dont know why another bothers ascending any more lol
