uhm they were good parts cheap 2 im not a big gamer i don't wannh spend £300 + on each part when it's not going to be used for it's full potential at all.

you'd be surprised at how easily ram is used up...

we're regularly annoyed at the tiny mistake we made when ordering this computer... one button clicked incorrectly, and we got 32-bit windows instead of 64-bit, and we cant use all the ram we've got inside it.

i only wannah play gatewars while watching a film and diablo 3 when it comes out over than that the comp will sit there.. i don't do any 3d rendering or any of that.

I didn't any of the other posts,

but whatever you do, be careful when putting on the AMD heat sinks.. they can be painful and so Id suggest you watch a youtube video before doing it.

last time I did one, I couldnt get the heat sink to click in and so I got inpatient and started the computer. I saw smoke comming out and immidiately closed it. Went to sleep, couldnt sleep, and so tried to put it on again and eventually got it to 'click'. Turned on the PC and IT WORKED.. I have to say I got lucky cause that heat sink was HARD to place in..

but AMD beats Intel, so good choice!

people are stupid and like to spend money on their computer parts so don't worry about your parts, they are perfectly fine (as long as they are compatible with each other)

Im running a $600 pc build last winter.. still plays starcraft 2 and HoN on high quality fine, and definitely is fast enough for the stuff I do (a lot of torrenting, photoshop, lots of pics, lots of website editing, n school stuff)

MSI motherboard (works well for AMD processors)
4 gb ddr2 ram
some cheap video card (I think it was like $60 after rebate)
450-500 watt psu (came with the case)

was like $600 or so,.. and its perfectly fine for everything..

honestly, spend ~$700 to build yours and no more (especially if its for the stuff you mentioned earlier)

thanks alot i have taken it all into consideration i have spent around the same as you it's going to be very nice i might buy a 650watt modular because im short on sata cables it's a pain splitting them.

hmm... we do not go around running the high-end graphics games, nor do we do much heavy 3D rendering, but still we're regularly annoyed at the fact that our computer only can use 4 gigabytes of ram. (in fact, the only rendering we've done is 2D render of 3D objects)

As far as power source goes, it is far better to have a little excess than to be even close to the limit of the supply.
We wont speak for what sort of graphics card you should take, but that generally depends on the use you plan. High-end graphics games like the newer FPS games obviously require more than what fully decent games from 5+ years ago.

Cant say what you'd need for a game like D3, but its better to have a bit more than minimum, especially since Blizzard has yet to release system requirements.
It'd be more than a bit annoying to discover in a few months when requirements do come out that the (for example) $70 part you bought isnt good enough and you have to come up with another $100, making the end cost for the part $170.
