There is a way to win wars..has been for quite some time now but it got passed over for the reasons I wont mention..but it is what it is. When I get back from my trip I would like to see this in place if the game is even still here.
Rookie Central is set up to score wars via M.E. In order for it to work properly the M.E. points have to be balanced out..the way it is now you get more ME for being massed than for massing..so once that is taken care of we can get to the next phase.
The war mode that locks alliances in a war..any participants cannot be attacked or attack outside of the realm of war..otherwise the ME scores will not be accurate.
A way to farm and raid for resources for the participants is to have their supply teams outside of the realm of war gathering the resources needed.
The way it works is simple..You log on, copy and paste your ME in rookie central, and before you log off do the same. The system automatically tracks the scores. It also awards ME ribbons automatically based on ME gained in the war..they are universal but if any alliance would like to have their own simply make them and they can be added to the data base and designated for specific alliance useage.
Its as simple as that..I do wonder how the game would be NOW if we had done this WAY BACK WHEN before all the BS in this forum started and was permitted to just kill interest here..it is what it is and what is done is done..but here it is anyways. The way to accurately score a war, set the duration of a war, and have a declared winner based on points. Think about it..or not it is up to you now.

Basically, when we put Rookie Central together we built in the ME tracking and awards stuff right into it and obviously the alliance war features.

SuperSaiyan wrote:So this is more of a community suggestion, than a game suggestion.
If it works it would be something I'd certainly consider giving a shot during a war, it would be ideal if the game would just do it like its supposed to but I can see this being a nice alternative.
It can qualify as a game suggestion..instead of trying to code all of this into the game thus putting it down for however long it will take plus the bugs, it can be an add on like the forum is..all Jason would have to do is get the M.E. points balanced out so the scoring will be accurate.

Re: A Way to win wars
How would the wars work? I'd assume the opposition would have to accept the war?
This is ok for a "friendly" war, but what happens when you get wars that drag on for months due to peoples years of bitter rivalry? Even if the war system ingame actually worked properly at the moment, I can't see many people accepting one.
Maybe make it "X" amount of hits by an alliance on another declares alliance war, and "X" amount of hits in retaliation "accepts" the war?

would a bitter war that is dragging on for months even matter as far as number are concerned either way? Something tells me that regardless what the numbers say, it won't be over till its over. Which really wouldn't need any sort of system like this no matter what.
Even if only useful for some wars, I think its worth pursuing.
Well there can be options to that...lets say we can choose the duration of a war..different time frames..1wk, 2 wk, 3 wk, hell even plug in up to 3 months..because really a good war needs to run about 3 months. OK..at the end of said war there is a winner based on the scores..well, if neither side wants it to end then they fight on..and on and on..but this is my point..
ALLIANCE A vs ALLIANCE B
1ST 3month war Alliance A wins
2nd 3 month war Alliance B wins
3rd 3 month war....alliance A wins...if everyone is sick of the war and wants to end it..Alliance A wins by virtue of 2 rounds to 3..
OK this can be broken down into series..
3 war series..whoever wins 2 rounds wins the war
5 war series..whoever wins 3 rounds wins the war
7.......the winner of 4 wins the war
11.....the winner of 6 wins the war
and so on and on and on....there are many options to go with this, and because of the options I think most players will likely focus on winning the round and winning the series rather than dragging it on into attrition forever in a day.
@Rene, something like that. There is room for grudge wars and friendly wars..most peopel can agree to uphold a nap whether they like each other or not, but once a duration is plugged in and they go at it, whoever scores the most wins the war or the round..hell this may even be the ticket to us having grudge wars like we do without the enduring hatred that goes along with it. But for it to work..and it is so simple how can it not?..It will simply take the will to do it.

The Talamasca use their own statistical program and record keeping.
A game feature to accomplish the same is a good idea, Jedi~Tank.
A ready made plugin? If I'd be admin, I'd install it into a test environment and get it checked out.

DDE has been using it for a while now, almost a year. It makes awards, battle honors and ME honors pretty easy and exact. The Rookie central has a rank system built into it, it not only displays a rank based on all time ME, it can also display rank from a specific start point. Its neat and it works already.

What stops the troll alliance from just editing the figures?
Would need to be a game feature if it were to be accurate
And create it as (ME gained/ME lost) between alliance ID X and alliance ID Y

It calculates that, and you cannot edit the numbers like that, when you copy the command page and the ME page and paste it, the system operates off the browser. The only way to edit figures is for someone that is an admin do it manually.

So you're saying I can copy the original figures on to a note pad then edit said figures and make the system believe they're the originals?Jedi~Tank wrote:[BoT] Jason wrote:What stops the troll alliance from just editing the figures?

No you cannot, it only works by copying the game screen and pasting that.

If so, photo shop...
Just seeing if this can hold any water if it were not directly linked to the ingame ME...

It will not work like that, you have to copy the game screen by specifically ctr-a and you have to paste it specifically with ctr-v, it will not work any other way aside from copying and pasting the actual game screens in the browser. Actually the sequence is CTR-A CTR-C CTR-V. Specifically off the browser.

Re: A Way to win wars
jay wont ever accept a third party to regulate his game.
second, this rokie central is reliable, secure and neutral, who is the owner ?
third , when u lock two alliances in war (no hit from no participants) even for a month who d assure its not abused, im mentioning this because i ve see a lot of abusing of bugs.
the game war declaration should be on the game server , maybe we can ask for a optimization and as a community to change our war behavior.
a little suggestion.
war declaration classic : alliance A declares via forum a war on B and then call them via game , B answers. here the alliance power of A and B should be at a range so it avoids A calling a small alliance.
they enter in a 2 week war against each-other. the war is posted in the logs and it is calculated by power of units, weaps, MS and planet loses by the war system. members involved lose the ability to vac/ppt for two weeks.
to prevent intruders in this war they gain he ability of not being for more then 240 ats also they cant hit others for more then that. its a limitations just to prevent high lvl massing from other alliances or members.
its impossible to lock this members for two weeks due to players basing their game in their daily massing.
