When an alliance sends an invitation to a lone wolf...it appears that the 10% covert and defense bonuses are lost until the invitation is rejected. I have confirmed this based on my onscreen covert/defense stats...as well as actually defense logs that show the defense without the 10% bonus.
This bug can be manipulated by an alliance to lower a lone wolf's defense and convert stats while the user is not online, or until the lone wolf rejects the invitation.
If the above is possible, it is equally possible that sending an invitation to join another alliance may cause the loss of house bonuses as well. I cannot confirm this and I don't know if alliance invitations can be sent to someone already in an alliance.

This bug is still an issue...and possibly being abused.
I set war with a player...and within a few minutes an alliance invitation was sent, lowering my defense and covert.
