The expanse of Skyrim feels larger than oblivion was, and the addition of minor miscellaneous quests is a nice one.
Many of the effects from chameleon have been implemented into stealth. Its far easier to exploit stealth in Skyrim, though it is still rather hard to sneak up on dragons. One problem we've noticed is that enemies are either too weak or too powerful; there's too few enemies in between.
Whereas bounties are now restricted to regions as is logical, some information appears still to transmit to the whole realm instantly, which is rather odd.
One other great annoyance is the lack of care people have for how they dress. Skyrim is a cold place, yet some seem to go dressed half-naked in mid-winter conditions. A bit of fur wrapped around vital regions will not stop frostbite, no matter how well you are used to cold weather. It would have been nice to have a game where such actually affected things, where you had to dress warmly in the cold and had to do the opposite when not in the cold.
Still, its an excellent game. They've been better in this with the facial generators, but still bad with the voice actor count. Too many use the same actors and/or the same phrases.
The greatest part here is without doubt the terrain and world. That is made with a level to make up for many of the other flaws present.
Oh, and its rather fun to walk up behind enemies and slit their throats... be they human, elf, vampire or ghosts...

Re: Skyrim
Yes, that limit is annoying. Oddly enough we've not been using two rings, but instead one ring and two amulets...
We've not been using any mods, though on occasion we've used the console for minor things like making sure the traders have enough gold or making sure a stuck quest could continue. Its hard to make sure one does not abuse the console...

Re: Skyrim
one change that would've been nice is if there'd been the ability to fight from horseback.

Re: Skyrim
I on xbox360 so no mods, no console. I would have probably gotten PC but my PC is from 2003 so its crap.
I have finally finished main questline. It happend at the 90h 17m mark of Play1. The only "majpr" questline to finish is companions and im pretty sure thats close to being finished aside from those pesky "infinite quests" that you see from thieves guild and dark brotherhood, probably college of winterhold too, i dont usually find myself in that area.
Currently finishing up the achievements before the DLC is announced, this way i have time to get ready for it, and maybe start a new game.
btw PC playershave like a 4GB update coming, X360 and PS3 players have patch 1.3 coming which fixes the crap they broke in 1.2

Re: Skyrim
our first oblivion character was a lizard... here we went with the simple solution of a nord...
orcs are just another form of pesky elves, so we'd not suggest that...

Re: Skyrim
the only non-elven species in the game are the cats, the lizards and the humans (nords/redguard/imperial) the rest are pesky, pointy-eared elves...
