Question for absolute clarity

A mates account was inadvertantly set to daimon..it is unknown with some nice raw stats. My question is.....if he ascends it will it be restored?

He wont be able to get GNR so he wont be able to ascend.. If what I understand from General Riviera's recent thread is true.

He will need to change race to an unascended one, and then ascend again and he will be TUK again, I think.

Stats will probably be nuked tho...

Your friend will need 3 race changes to 'restore' the account to an unascended race before earning enough GnR to ascend again. I'm not entirely sure what would happen though if the account has already had 21 ascensions or whether it would even work at all?

I was asked about this by the same person JT. I wasn't sure of the complete answer but I knew it would require a race change.... but why 3?

NOTE: You can change advanced race techs/units/bonuses to advanced race techs/units/bonuses as long as you have race changes left to use (each change costs 1..so change all 3 costs 3 race changes). There are no ill effects.
BUT - If you change ANY RACE DETAIL (tech,personality or social structure) to a 'basic' race,
YOU WILL LOSE ALL TECHS, FLEETS, AND WEAPONS,
YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CHANGE BACK to advanced (post ascension) race details -- at least not without reaching ascension again, and
ALL 3 ATTRIBUTES (tech,personality type,social structure) WILL REVERT TO A NON-ASCENDED VARIETY.
Note that it takes 3 race changes to move from ascended to non-ascended, since all 3 aspects change.

What's odd is how changing 1 race element to unascended changes them all to unascended. You're saying changing 1 aspect to unascended takes 3 points?

that sucks jt, put in all that effort only to have it all wiped with one little mistake. do you not have to confirm leaving ascension or is it literally just one click and done? :/

There's definitely no way around it Stuart. It does make sense though if you look at it. Being able to potentially change just the race and not the tech paths and race structure and instead leaving them as ascended would mean you would be an unascended being with ascended properties still.

Has anyone got a spare Unknown they don't care for? We should put it to the test!

daimon can get back to ascended but the nice raw stats are gone when then acc is changed to unascended
