Tech Price Drop?

First time I've noticed it if it's happened before but the price of techs plummeted from upwards of a billion per upgrade down to little over 800m between last night and today. I was aware that UP cost varies depending on USS purchases across the server (is that correct?) but techs?

Tech price is based on the highest Tech upgrades in the game. The top players kinda work like an Ice Breaker -- Everyone after can get through easier.

EDIT: Also, UP is the same way. The higher the highest UP, the cheaper it becomes for the rest of us.

I've given up on UP for the time being. I'm stat building to ensure I don't end up too far behind for the last three days of the era. Raiding brings 2m UU back in 150 turns anyway currently. Doesn't make much mathematical sense to plough it all on UP for me now.

What's your general strategy?

I get on daily to buy turns, train units, and use my Naq to keep my stats in the Top-20s. I wait for my turns to near the max, then raid it all in one day. On the last day of the game-week, I buy ATs with my SS bonus, and raid all the ATs I have.

SO:
Monday--Thursday = 4k ATs (4 Days of Natural ATs + 4 Days of Market ATs)
Friday--Sunday = 4k ATs (3 Days of Natural ATs + 3 Days of Market ATs + 1 2xDay SS AT bonus)

I've basically stopped increasing my UP for the large part. Most of it goes to Techs/MS Caps/Covert Levels.

I'm operating an almost identical strategy. Cash spenders do concern me though.

Had I realised that I could take 480 turns from the market each day from the start I reckon I'd be up there with the likes of IceBolt et al at 240+ by now. Stupid me.

Yeah I have about 60 million uu worth of ATs on my right now, so I would be at about 250... BTW there is like 15 people viewing this forum.

Quickie math here:
You now have roughly 190m units, i used almost all my turns and have 260m units.
Lets just say that you have 50m less miners because you dont use turns.
1Miner generates 960naq per turn, meaning 50m miners generate: 48.000.000.000 PER TURN
You miss out on almost 100.000.000.000 naq per hour... 2,400B naq per day.
Ofcourse the difference is smaller on monday, and at its top at the day you use the turns.
But how is missing out on at least 5,000 B every 4days a good strategy?
