Section 5: Language
a. English.
Members of the SGW forums are required to speak in English at all times. Members should also respect that English is not the first language of all users and respect that some people may struggle with it more than others.

Note:
The Spam temple will allow some foreign language, but not much. This will be left up to the discretion of the applicable moderators. Once advised to discontinue posting in another language, the normal forum rules will be applied henceforth.

Consequence:
A polite note from a moderator will be issued requesting the user speak in English. A verbal warning will be issued for those who do not respect a person's English skills. One warning point may be issued for repeat offenders in either case (not speaking English or not respecting others English skills).


b. Profanity
The use of all profanity on the SGW forums is prohibited at all times. This means swearing, cursing, and vulgarity. This includes the use of masking. Profanity in images (such as in signatures), videos linked (such as YouTube), or in articles linked is also prohibited.

Note:
Masking is using characters, HTML tags, or anything else to express a word that would otherwise be filtered; in other words, it's bypassing the filter. Profanity not a part of the main focus of the page being linked (such as advertisements or comments) will not be policed as they can change quickly and easily.

Consequence:
When only minor profanity is used, only a Verbal Warning may be issused. In all other cases a Board Warning will be issued. In the case of Masking a Board Warning will always be issued.


c. Abuse / Racism
Members of the SGW community are required to speak courteously to others. Personal attacks on other members are not tolerated. This includes comments about one’s sex, gender, skin color, religion, or cultural heritage. You may not post personal information about another user regardless of how it was obtained. This includes their address, phone numbers, names, or any other detail about their real life status that they have not already posted on the SGW forums themselves. For exceptions to this rule please see the role playing section (section 6).

Consequence:
Minor infringements such as throw away comments may be ignored. If not, a polite note from a moderator will be issued requesting the user to tone it down. More serious cases and repeated breaking of the rule will result in the issuing of warning points. Very serious comments will be given more warning points. This will be judged with input from the Forum Administrators and Moderators.


d. Pornographic and criminal content.
Posting anything of a pornographic nature is not permitted on the SGW forums. Pornographic being defined as: Sexually explicit pictures, writing, or other material whose primary purpose is to cause sexual arousal (dictionary.com). The SGW forums are not the place for discussing or facilitating criminal activity. This includes arranging to carry out a crime or the posting of illegal images (including copyrighted property).

Consequence:
This will result in the issuing of warning points. Very serious comments will be given more warning points. This will be judged with input from the Forum Administrators and Moderators. In cases of criminal activity the Administrators will not hesitate to contact the authorities.

The posting of other users current in-game stats (such as spy logs) are not permitted on the SGW forums. You are however permitted to post your own stats and attack logs.

Consequence:
A Moderator will issue a polite note to the user reminding them of the rules. Repeat offenders will be given one warning point.

I am sure there is an exception for reporting like what we did. Can a moderator confirm if the way of posting of stats done here was okay?

Kinda like a Galactic Colosseum sort of rules.

I am assuming when the rules were written, they were meant for current stats of players that other players cannot spy AND are non-zero. You were brought down and it was public knowledge from the Galactic Logs that your def was 0 at that point.

you say that but when they were posted they were current stats therefore in the way to rules sound , the rule of section 5 e was broken


regardless whether the stat is that of 0 or not it should still not be posted unless it is the owner of the account with the stat posting it

Just to clarify that rule for everyone.. As someone who has been invloved in more wars than anyone who has posted in this thread so far, and been warned for this rule several times.. and as a former moderator...

You CAN post what the stats were IF you mass them. You cannot say for example 'so and so has a 3 quad defense left and it was 9 quad."

You could however say "so and so just had a 9 quad defense it is now significantly lower."

You can post what the top UP is but if you say who has it you could be warned.

The rule is current stats, and zero doesn't count.

But then again, none of this matters as it's up to the perspective of the current mod team, which has changed a lot since last I was warned for this and even more since I was a mod.. If they think it's current you could also be warned for it, until you can prove it wasn't current..

The easiest way around this rule is to post your attack logs of before and after.. as that is clearly stated in the rules as acceptable.
