Memory Lane, Server War 2

I am not sure this has been discussed, but here it is anyways.

In the SW2 many players participated and many became legends of the game. Great battles were fought, we saw teamwork like never before and the emergence of the PayPal pimp era. In your opinion, for those still around that was apart of that great war ......

Who was your best opponent?
Who was your most dreaded?
Who was the most feared player?
Who was the best strategist?
What were your greatest moments?
Who impressed you the most?
Who influenced you the most?
Who was the most influencial overall?

And add some other memories, questions or stories you would like to share.

Re: Memory Lane, Server War 2

Ah the server war... seems so long ago now... but it sure was a good time (IMO :P )

ATs were cheap, defs were smashable by folks who were still ascending, having big stats was considered bad and got you labelled a 'statbuilder' :P

Not to mention 600+ people online according to the counter below the bank screen..

I wasn't really a part of the war but I do remember, one of the most memorable moments must've been just before the war started, mH joining FUALL. Didn't see that coming lol

And the qacol vs JT posts were always a good read :)

Re: Memory Lane, Server War 2

The server war was pretty interesting to see unfold, but after a while it grew into fear of being annihilated for no reason (the whole "vulturing" argument)

Re: Memory Lane, Server War 2

Had quite a lot of battles with Infinity, he and i had very similar MS's so was often a case of who was able to start massing 1st, later on then i had a few fights with Qacol, often 1 sided due to his beast of an account, but was still fun.

Right at the start was pretty fun, i remember i had Blahh accusing me of using a banking script because i was leaving small amounts of naq out. Was just that my 1.4t def was unmassed and i preferred to keep my banked naq rounded off to 1b increments due to mild (*cough*) case of OCD.

Even with his, at the time, stupidly overpowered planets he still refused to mass me because i was marginally outside of his optimal massing win:loss range...ironic that he was questioning MY case of OCD :smt043

Re: Memory Lane, Server War 2

I joined the game the first time around during SW2. Joined TPE's training alliance I think it was, they were out of the server war but some of us detached and ended up in it, compliments of Desert Ghost I think it was, don't quote me on that :P

Re: Memory Lane, Server War 2

depends if you count the The Faction V Grand Allainces as first server or not I guess.. to me last server war was markiii .. but it surpassed the other 2 in length and total of particiants.. a lot said that was getting boring at the end and wanted it to end.. I personally was happy at the time for it to continue :)

I joined DoC in Aug, a couple of months into the FuALL server war, left war with FS (ironically) to do so.. thanks to my great friend BPC's insisting I join him there.. was there til the end... minus some time out due to RL .. met some awesome ppl in there Myhill, Starr, Kosta, Gunner, Icey an endless list tbh..

They will be responsible for the overall feel of the section, the setup/structure, and most importantly the community/users in the section. This will incorporate the old 'ombudsman' role. And insofar as the Section Admin is responsible for the users, they are also responsible for the high level mod behaviour towards the users.
So -as a user - if you have an issue with how you are treated, rules, bans, whatever --goto the section admin... They are there for you!

There is no 'reporting structure' in this setup -- tech, mod, and section admins are all on equal footing, each with their own (somewhat overlapping) responsibilities.
Mods report directly to the mod admin, and indirectly to the section admin for the section in which they mod.

Re: Memory Lane, Server War 2

my best opponent by far was Thamuz, the guy was epic and will always be the one person I could never beat, no matter how many times we went at it he always managed to outdo me even if by the smallest amount >_< he was a great bloke though always fun to chat with ;)

as for my "greatest" accomplishment I massed Robes 1tril+ ms with my 250bil MS for the lulz it cost me far more to do than it cost her to rebuild it but hey I had a blast

I always hated it when Qacol was online it meant there was nothing I could do because JT was the only one I knew who could keep up with him at least during the middle of the war eventually most accounts evened out and were around the same level but it still sucked to see him in the attack logs or MSN list lol

most influential for me was probably Myhill or loCe

What were your greatest moments?

When I ascended and barely logged on and then "running" after being in it for 12 months but truth was I had reached my Unknown status and begun building my account :-D

The days when it was easier to catch up =D>

Re: Memory Lane, Server War 2

I remember the start of the Serverwar 2 as how shedload discribed it to me...

He was the first person I started talking to, after he PM'ed me ingame, cuz I farmed him on the 1st day of my playtime. Explained me a few things etc. Really nice approach and very different from how people respond these days.

This is how he discribed it:

People started massing and sabbing each other, enormous losses and great battles were fought. He seemed a bit startled by it himself as how he told me these things :smt101 . When I was ready to join FUALL, (a few months later) the war was still going on...
