What ? give credit to the French who only supported American independence because they failed to take the America's for themselves, and only supplied weapons in order to tie up British forces so they could nibble away at other remote parts of the Empire lol
Funny that when the new independent US tried to invade Canada the French Canadian colonists who were quite happy under British rule actually fought alongside the British

Dont think I am defending my own nation, us Brits did some horrible things in our empire days, but the other nations of the day were just as bad and American independence was all about the money and had nothing to do with morality, also the only reason the Brits withdrew from the America's was to defend, consolidate, and even expend in other parts of the world which were at the time far more densely populated and far more profitable. Much as Americans like to think they beat the Brits the truth is the Brits could have won very easily but decided to focus their forces elsewhere in places more important to them at the time.
