So a good few years ago I played this game. I was pretty big into it, but lost interest during the CoP vs CIA war due to not wanting to leave but not really wanting to fight anymore either. It seems things have changed massively since then. Been playing for almost a week now so the mechanics of play are coming back to me, but seems a lot of things have changed. Apparently Naq means a lot more than UU these days? I also see a lot more people in the really deep ascensions, and the guides I read don't mention the 5% per ascension gain for all stats. Has this changed?
As far as politics, I see that DDE and Omega are the only two alliances I recognize. How did the CoP vs CIA war end? What happened to Dirty Dozen? Where are all the old names? ETL and GunZ are the only names I recognize. What happened to the old names I used to know. Hensenshi? GenLucky? Smooshable? Robe? Blahh?
Basically, update me on the politics of what has happened since the big CoP vs CIA war.

Re: Update me
I'll gladly give you a quick recap of the major events.
CIA vs CoP war ended when Dirty Dozen withdrew from the CoP pact, thus meaning CoP ceased to exist. Dirty Dozen continued on for maybe 6 months, before disbanding. DDE and Omega signed a new agreement, and named themselves "Fundamentally Unbreakable Alliance" (FUALL).
In the year after the CoP/CIA war, there was a time of a few big empires growing. DDE, Omega and The Legion Empire (which included Robe's gang) all grew to be very big. The Order also grew to have a few alliances. The Tauri Alliance Family also maintained it's membership numbers of well over 100. The exception was that EPAc fell apart, and EPA alone struggled in the face of several wars, eventually disbanding, only to reform a few months later.
During 2007, The Legion Empire went to war against Mayhem, Ascended Empire Union and a few other smaller alliances in what was known as the "Zion War". After a few months, The Legion won, and large naq tributes were paid to them from the surrendering alliances.
In 2008 tensions rose between FUAll and many other alliances in the game. The Legion Empire, Tauri Alliance Family and The Order signed a defensive agreement known as "The Janus Pact". Mayhem originally agreed to join TJP, before switching sides and joining the Omegan Empire, taking high level TJP info with them. On the 28th May 2008 (date from memory, may be wrong), FUALL declared war on all members of The Janus Pact, beginning the "Server War". The Janus Pact were joined by a number of FUALLs enemies (Slovenia United, Yggradasil Empire, the reformed EPA, Empire of Briton and others) and became known as "The Task Force". Several alliances who supported FUALL also joined in.
The Server War saw both sides fighting fiercely and neither would give an inch. Many players left on both sides, including most of the big names in TLE (Blahh, Zesh, eXtremer, Svarun). TÅF took a unique approach and split our forces into many small strike groups in the early stages of the war, with players regularly switching alliances and/or forming new ones before launching strikes. One of those groups became TÅ Massers, led by ~Qacol~ which did lot of the heavy fighting against FUALL in the main server. Admin introduced a number of updates during the first year of the server war, including raising the max number of ascensions to 23.
In autumn/fall 2009, TÅ Massers left TÅF, were renamed to Ricos Roughnecks (now Ricos Warlords) and agreed a mutual ceasefire with FUALL. The Server War continued, but numbers involved were slowly diminishing. The Order also disbanded, but most of the core members came together in an alliance called The Pirates Panties and continued to fight on with The Task Force.
At gametime 23:23:23 on the 23rd February 2010, a mutually agreed ceasefire was signed by the remaining members within FUALL and The Task Force. One of the terms of the ceasefire was the dissolution of The Janus Pact/Task Force Agreement, upon the condition that FUALL would never collectively target a single alliance.
During 2010, problems began within FUALL. REK was no longer around for DDE, leaving Jedi~Tank in charge, and Tekki was left in day-to-day command of OE. Political differences began to take their toll on FUALL. Internal issues also arose between leaders of Mayhem and Omega, resulting in ETL discharging the whole Mayhem alliance from OE. At some point during late 2010/early 2011 FUALL officially split (can't find the announcement for the date).
Since that time, there has not been a war involving more than a few alliances. The Legion had a long war against Dark Dominion Empire and Mayhem. TÅF had short conflicts with Ricos in 2010, DDE in early 2011, followed by a war against Delta and then a long war against OE that ran from September 2011 to April 2012 which diminished Omega's membership numbers from over 100 to under 30. It is probably also worth noting that Forgotten Serenity and DDE have had a very long war that was over 2 years in length. Ricos had a war with Omega in summer 2011, as did a group of fighters who'd formed an alliance called Ascended Generations.
Generally the past two years have seen an increase in the impact of cash spending for resources. A small number of accounts have had a lot of cash used to push them way ahead of the average player. Covert levels 40, and even 41, are around ingame. Mothership sizes are huge (and made 2.5x huger by the update).
Most alliances have gone through phases of both consolidation and expansion. The Omegan Empire is now only made up of two alliances (Omega and TITANS who recently merged together) but with strong accounts. TÅF has found itself as a home for players from older alliances such as EPA, BAU, Nemesis Empire, SK Emperors. DDE has once again grown into a powerful empire.
As things stand this week, there have been massings between DDE and Omega members. What will happen next is any body's guess.

Re: Update me
In 2009 REK had a terrible loss in his family and passed leadership to Deni, Deni subsequently passed leadership to me in 2010 and she retired in 2011. REK retired in early 2010 (there is a post in a war thread but I cannot find it)
In government, philosophy and structure DDE has not changed much, but has changed some, but like all alliances during the year 2011 our numbers dwindled, we cut 2 alliances and one was hijacked by a band of cowards of whom thier names will not be mentioned here.
The Fallout of FUALL or the allegiance between DDE and Omega was a natural progression. The game became too small for the 2 largest empires to be allied and all the while compete for members and farming grounds..after the split DDE philosophy changed. Partnering with some new friends and old enemies we endeavored to take wars to a smaller scale i.e alliance vs alliance, teams vs teams, and 1v1 vendies..for the most part it has worked out pretty well for 2012, there are a few still around that want to GO TO ALL OUT WAR FOREVER AND A DAY UNTIL HELL FREEZES OVER over nonsense, but they are pretty much alienated and behind in the times as the game is moving forward...(if that is accurate) overall numbers have declined, but t has leveled off over the past few months and there are still enough people playing it to find enjoyment.
DDE and OE remain strong, TAF is strong, TL is strong, FS were always tough but small but now have branched out and look really good for thier future..Mayhem and Rico's Warlords are strong.
The recent fad or "In thing" is for a player to get pissed, and declare war on an alliance or an empire..why? who knows but its a trendy happening this year. Umm...things are good.
