Its just something we made up in (07?) to random mass more people with an 'excuse' after everyone decided to outlaw random massings from their alliances.

Vulture or no vulture, if you have 0 def, as stated, you should be farmed. Reduce your income, turn on nox, ppt, something. If you're in a war and have even some kind of def, I MIGHT leave you alone (keyword might) but if you have 0 def and over 50 bil out, Im attacking you.

Look at it this way, at least the enemy isnt getting the naq.

QFT because it seems like a very reasonable way to see it. large amounts of naq on a zero def is going to get taken sooner or later regardless of who you are or who takes it.

if its a small player who you can bully might it be better to say, atleast my enemy didnt get it and give them some credit for going out and getting naq to better themselves.

I will be honest, i will mass anyone hitting me for naq/dmu when normal peace time they wouldnt. I hate random massings and use the vulture excuse as a perfectly good reason to mass someone.

I've never really random massed. Random massed would indicate I closed my eyes and just attacked 'randomly' - I've always chosen my targets specifically for their defense and spies. They should be honored

In my mind, anyone who takes advantage of people being zero'd is considered a vulture.

When I was looking through logs, I wouldn't mind taking the time to message somebody and warn them that if they frequent our logs during times of war that we would do the same to them. If they repeat this process, I would mass them, steal a planet, etc or do something to somebody close to them so they would understand that I meant what I said.

I did not enjoy it, but I am not going to let people who would otherwise be unable to touch our defense farm us freely.

You may have zero to some sub-par defense, but that is because it is smart not to build a massive defense that you cannot cover religiously. Activity means profit in this game after all.

In the end it depends upon the circumstances, but if you are actively farming an alliance at war with people being actively massed then yes, you are a vulture in my books.

I often don't know what their usual defense would be...

and if I do, it's usually something between pity, sympathy, and karma/vengeance.

I treat the everyone in the server the same, if its profitable, its fair, so i will hit people at war whose defense is not sufficient to protect their naq and i'm really getting annoyed that people still can't see that the only change in the farming equation to get (naq > defense = profit) to (naq < defense = non profit) is for them to build a defense that makes it unprofitable for the other person to farm them, or they reduce their income to a point where it doesn't cross the threshold of the profitable hit line

And if a person hits you during a war for a profitable amount, what is your reaction?

I know that i chose to have no defense, because i chose to be in a war alliance, and that means that i will lose my defense at some point and there is no reaction. I don't feel anything, i know that if i wanted to keep my naq, i would be in an alliance that doesn't often go to war, and then i would build a defense because it wont often get 0'ed
